Forgive us for drifting into cliché but the FA Cup really is the oldest, most famous domestic football cup competition in the world (shame it doesn’t have a more British headline sponsor!). Although it takes a backseat these days to the Champions League, the Football Association’s storied trophy is highly prestigious and remains high on any player’s list of must-have silverware.
FA Cup Bingo Cards
Just like the 2023 final, the 2024 event was a Manchester derby as Man United and last year’s winners Man City once again duked it out at Wembley Stadium.
Guardiola’s Manchester City were once again the favourites to win both the FA Cup and the Premier League, whereas United were coming off another inconsistent season. But much to everyone’s surprise, the unfancied United somehow managed to pull off a 2-1 win.
