Gentleman Jim is a new venture by Lovell Brothers Limited who also operate Dragon Bet.  It was launched in early 2024 with the emphasis very much on the sportsbook part of the site and with a limited range of slot games.  They are now in the process of adding games from many more providers, massively improving the casino part of the site and making it good enough to stand on its own.

The design of Gentleman Jim is absolutely delightful – they’ve really gone to town on the “gentleman” theming and most of the promotional banners are based round old fashioned illustrations of gentlemen engaged in football, rubgy, golf, horse racing and other sporting and gaming activities.

The Lovell Brothers have their roots in horse racing and this is reflected in the way that the sportsbook is set up, with the day’s horse racing being given pride of place in the sportsbook along with all the currently available in-play betting.  Greyhound racing is another market that’s given a lot of prominence, as is football.  There’s plenty of bets available on other sports as well – click or tap on the the name of the sport to see more.

Getting Started at Gentleman Jim

The registration process at Gentleman Jim is a quick and simple process.  The only thing to wach out for is that the casino welcome offer with its terms and conditions is in a pop-up and once you’ve closed it there’s no obvious way to get back, so do make sure you read the terms and conditions at this point.  You can still claim the offer after closing the pop-up, by using the Sign Up button.  The promo code for the casino welcome offer needs to be entered on the initial sign-up screen rather than when you make your deposit, but as it’s prefilled this shouldn’t be an issue.

Games at Gentleman Jim

Gentleman Jim opened with games from just two providers, Pragmatic Play (who supplied the live casino offering as well as most of the slot games) and Leap.  They have now added games from more than a dozen other providers including NetEnt, Relax Gaming and Red Tiger.

With all of these new game providers now on board, it’s good to see that there’s plenty of categorisation in the lobby, including Drops & Wins and Jim’s Picks, to help players find games.  You can also browse by the game provider using the dropdown.

The live casino area of the Gentleman Jim site has even more categorisation. As well as the usual sections for roulette, blackjack, baccarat and gameshows, there’s Asian, Crash and Speed.

Other Considerations

As at other Playbook sites promotions are advertised via banners in the lobby rather than on a specific promotions page, but most of the banners are advertising specific games (in the casino) or specific sports or events (in the sportsbook).  At the time of writing in June 2024, all that’s running is three different versions of Pragmatic Play’s Drops & Wins promotion – slots, live casino and crash games (the last one consisting of Big Bass Crash and Spaceman).

Payment methods are a decidedly weak point at Gentleman Jim – it’s debit cards only.

Mobile usability, on the other hand, is excellent – there’s Android and Apple apps available.
