Unfortunately we can't bring you an offer for The Online Casino at the moment. We're working to fix this, but in the meantime please visit our UK Slot Sites page for a full list of other great offers
The Online Casino has been around since 2018 but it was originally on another platform. It’s now back as a Progress Play casino.
The Online Casino was originally launched back in 2018, on the Nektan platform (now Grace Media) but that version of the site closed in June 2020. The new ProgressPlay version hasn’t carried over the player base, so if you had an account at the Nektan version you should be able to sign up afresh and collect the welcome offer again.
It has to be said that the new version of this somewhat unimaginatively named site is vastly superior to the old one. For a start, it’s got a sportsbook attached (quite an impressive one, with thousands of events to bet on) and the promotions are also much more numerous than at the old version, including plenty of regularly changed, multi use bonus codes as well as slot leaderboards and cashback offers.
Of course, with a name like The Online Casino, there isn’t much to the theme of the site but it’s still nice-looking. The bright green is very modern and makes browsing easy from a mobile device.
The registration process is just like any other ProgressPlay Casino, with just three easy screens of forms to fill out. So, it’s no biggie getting signed up. Like I mentioned above, if you were a member of The Online Casino back when it was a Nektan site, then you’ll have to get signed up again.
It’s a little bit of a pain, if you had a curated selection of Recently Played games or some trophies you were proud of. But, the good new is that you can claim the welcome bonus all over again.
The Online Casino comes full to the brim with lots of great slots from a wide range of studios. I like how they’ve cast a wide net to include all types of game makers rather than just featuring the big name studios like Pragmatic Play and Games Global. It’s nice to see lots of different brands being featured, especially smaller, indie-type makers like Hacksaw Gaming and Wazdan.
What’s even better is that they all get equal featuring on the headline sections of the site. So, you’re just not being shoved more of the same that you’re used to seeing at every other site down your throat. The Online Casino mixes it up with a lot of different types of games.
If your main focus is the more classic style of slots, then all you have to do is scroll down to the Vegas section of the slots lobby and there you’ll find mostly titles from Playtech and Eyecon – the veterans of the online casino world.
In terms of progressive jackpots, The Online Casino has done a really good job of making sure that the most generous networks are included. The main one I’d say is worth paying attention to is Age of The Gods – Playtech’s flagship progressive jackpot, which can reach millions of pounds.
One thing I really like about The Online Casino is how often new games are added. The site works really hard to ensure that new slots are posted the same day they’re released from the studio, so you can always expect to see the freshest selection of games under the New tab.
On the downside, that’s about it when it comes to browsing – those main categories. You can’t really filter based on the kind of features or themes you’re interested in, so there’s certainly room for improvement there. Still, the recommendations you get from the Featured section are great, and you can tell the team curating it stay on the pulse of what’s hot among players.
There’s also a live casino area (with gameshows, roulette, blackjack and other games by Evolution and Playtech) and a suprisingly well appointed casual games area with scratchcards, virtual sports, video bingo, lotto style games and other instant win titles. Nothing really stands out here but it does give you something different to try if you’ve run out of slots to play.
ProgressPlay casinos are always great to count on when you’re looking for a promotion worth claiming. There’s always something in the Bonuses section aside from the Welcome Bonus and, with something to do pretty much every day of the week and that’s without even looking at the sportsbook promotions (of which there are many).
The inclusion of a sportsbook also makes The Online Casino stand out. It’s not something you would expect from a site so plainly named “The Online Casino” so it’s a nice addition. And, it’s actually not a bad sportsbook! It’s pretty comprehensive with loads of different markets and fairly competitive odds. So if you’re the kind of player who likes to bet on sports on occasion, this is somewhere that’s worth signing up to. This is something I’m a bit of a fan of because, when the mood hits me to bet on something like The World Cup, it’s a pain to have to dig out my login for a sportsbook I hardly play at – so it’s great that there’s one right here, where I would play all my favourite slots.
Payment methods are pretty standard, except for the inclusion of Pay By Mobile – which you don’t see often at UK-facing casinos nowadays. However, if you’re going to use this method, make sure you let customer support know in advance – because the Closed Loop system means that you normally have to withdraw to the same method you deposited with, and Pay by Mobile can make that a bit tricky.
In terms of user interface, the Progress Play platform itself has recently had a lobby update, and works well across all devices. It’s definitely an upgrade from its previous version which was a little buggy when accessed on mobile devices.
The Online Casino has really made some significant strides since it relaunched on the ProgressPlay platform. It’s transformed into a modern site that actually makes it a strong contender in the competitive online gambling space. I would definitely highlight its impressive collection of slot games which showcases both big-name studios and indie developers, and especially the inclusion of a sportsbook. It does actually offer something for every type of player.
The addition of lesser-seen features, such as Pay by Mobile and a well-stocked casual games area, highlights its efforts to cater to all sorts of playsrs. I do think there’s room for improvement in navigation and filtering options, but the consistent addition of new games and helpful recommendations ensure a positive gaming experience.
Overall, The Online Casino delivers what I would call a compelling mix of game variety and bonuses. So, whether you’re a slots enthusiast, a sports bettor, or someone who just enjoys dabbling in live casino games, it’s worth exploring.
Progress Play standard Play Responsibly document is brief and to the point. As well as the mandated safer gambling tools they offer wagering, loss and time limits.
