What is Fluffy Megaways?
Fluffy Megaways – or Fluffy Favourites Megaways to give it its full name – is the latest slot game release in the Fluffy series (the others being Fluffy Favourites, Fluffy Too, Fluffy Favourites Fairground and Fluffy In Space). The previous games in the series have used a classic 5×3 reels array with 25 paylines, but the new game is based around Big Time Gaming’s Megaways random reel modifier.
Megaways slots don’t have paylines, they have ways to win. Any combination of three or more of the same symbol on adjacent reels, starting at the left hand side, wins. Megaways reels can have anything from 2 to 7 symbols visible at the end of a spin, producing a different number of possible ways to win each time.
How To Play Fluffy Megaways
If you’re familiar with the earlier Fluffy games, one big difference you’ll notice with Fluffy Favourites Megaways is that Nellie, the pink elephant symbol, only functions as a scatter and not as a wild. (Nellie still twerks when you spin up two or more of them at once). In fact there are no wilds on the reels, only on the carousel (the four symbol horizontal reel at the top of reels 2-5), and the wild is a symbol associated with bonus rounds in previous games, the claw.
Fluffy Megaways resembles other Megaways games rather than other Fluffy games in its heavy use of multipliers:
- In the base game, each cascading win increases the multiplier by one; it’s reset at the end of the spin.
- Claw wilds have a random multiplier of 1-5, applied if they form part of any winning combos.
- In the free spins bonus round (triggered by 3 or more scatters), the multiplier goes up by one after each cascading win and doesn’t reset until the end of the bonus round.
Cascading wins + multiplier is a feature of the majority of Megaways slots and this combination can result in big wins after multiple cascades, especially during the bonus round. The flipside of this is that wins without the multiplier are extremely small and many combinations return an amount that is far smaller than stake size e.g. 1p or 2p on a 20p spin.
Fluffy Megaways comes in two different versions. The regular version has Return To Player of 94.99% which isn’t great and the progressive jackpot version is considerably worse; it’s 89.986% plus 3% jackpot contribution.
