Sugar Bingo

The original design concept of a smiling gingerbread man in a lollipop forest was exactly the sort of thing that fell foul of the Gambling Commission’s crackdown on imagery which might appeal to children, so the theming of Sugar Bingo had to be toned RIGHT down and all that was left was a few old fashioned striped boiled sweets and a trio of cupcakes on the public part of the site (which doesn’t give you much idea of what’s actually in the lobby).  Now, even that has been removed.

The lobby itself is the latest version of the software, introduced in 2021 and easy to use across all devices.

Once inside, you’ll see that Sugar Bingo has several bingo rooms in common with absolutely every other bingo site on the Dragonfish software, but this isn’t immediately apparent because bingo rooms can have different names at different sites.  The playing card based Suit Up, for instance, is the same as Bingo Deal on the main Dragonfish network, whereas Mystery Jackpots is more obviously identifiable from elsewhere.  Then there’s Linked and Loaded 75 (aka Easy Peasy) and Linked and Loaded 90 (aka Top of the Shop); the name is certainly a clue to how wide the networking is and if you’ve played at any other Dragonfish site you’ll have come across them before under other names.   It has to be said, however, that none of these rooms are ever really very busy, probably because it’s not possible on the Dragonfish platform to buy tickets from the schedule or even see what games are scheduled beyond the next game.

Dragonfish get round this limitation for special bingo games by running them in a room of their own and opening it a long time in advance; you can still only buy tickets for the next game but if the next game is in three weeks’ time, that’s a very long ticket purchase window compared to the minute or so you would get in one of the bingo rooms where games run all the time.  The special games at Sugar Bingo are mostly of three types:

1. Sliding jackpots. In these games, the size of the prize depends on how many ball calls it takes for the game to be won.
2. Free bingo.  As of autumn 2022 all these are sliding jackpot games with very small baseline prizes.
3. Free spins bingo.  In these rooms you can win slot spins on various slot games (they come with a wagering requirement, though).

What else can you do at Sugar Bingo?  There’s hundreds of slot games to try out (very many more than you would think from looking at the public part of the site) including lots of Eyecon jackpots and Megaways titles.  There’s also a selection of Slingo and instant win games. Some of the games can’t be played with bonus (these are clearly marked Real Money Only in the lobby) but there are plenty that can.

Then there’s the player rewards system, which is based on collecting trophies which fill a meter to unlock a prize wheel spin.  This is not an original idea but the Sugar Bingo version of it has a number of refinements that make it better than similar arrangements elsewhere.

• The trophies are not all equally valuable and the extent to which they fill the meter reflects how hard they are to get.
• Special seasonal trophies are introduced every month.
• Many of the trophies can be collected multiple times as they reset daily or weekly.  This means players don’t run out of trophies to collect.
