Paper, A New Game At Tombola - Why You Should Try It
-
Updated: 19th Aug 2024
Paper is the latest addition to tombola‘s impressive array of unique bingo games. Like many of their other games it is a multi-stake game which has been specially designed to work well on mobile devices, but unlike their other games of this type it is not a single ticket game – players can buy anything from 1 to 5 tickets. Paper is a 50 ball bingo game, and each ticket has just 5 numbers, so even if you buy the maximum number of tickets you won’t be buying a full strip.
Each ticket is a different colour and the numbers are displayed from top to bottom, but there don’t seem to be any rules (as would be found in 75 or 90 ball bingo) for the number distribution on the tickets – one of the tickets I purchased was made up of numbers 6, 7, 15, 16 and 17, so very bunched up. The colours of the numbers don’t carry over from one game to the next and are probably just there to help players distinguish between their tickets.
On to the visuals; as usual with Tombola these are superb. The backdrop is a landscape with a forest, mountains and moving clouds in the sky – and if you look a bit more closely it’s all made of paper cut-outs with a 3D effect! The trees in the foreground sway in the breeze and tiny origami creatures fly past periodically. The tickets are also made of folded paper – when you click to purchase they concertina up and when you mark a number off, that part of the paper folds down. First ticket to fold all the way to the bottom wins!
Paper runs in several different rooms (opening times vary). Each room has its own chat and none of the games are linked. There are two fixed jackpots – 50,000 x ticket price for bingo in 5 calls and 10,000x ticket price for bingo in 6 calls.
Paper has two other very big plus points:
- The tickets are very reasonably priced – the available stakes are 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p
- The RTP is currently guaranteed to be in excess of 92% which is almost unheard of for a bingo game (this may be adjusted later on, as it was for Potion, once the game isn’t so new) [UPDATE – it was indeed adjusted to be 80%+]
What this means is that right now, Paper is almost certainly the best value for money – entertainment value, that is – of ANY real money bingo game at any of the online bingo sites open to UK players. Enjoy!
