Best Odds Bingo Arrives at Mecca Bingo

Best Odds Bingo aka BOB is the new 50 ball “equal chance” online bingo game at Mecca Bingo.  The game itself is just 50 ball bingo (albeit with some pretty graphics) – what makes it different is the way the room and ticket sales are set up.

• Everyone has the same number of tickets at the same fixed price – 10 for 50p in the games we played.
• A maximum of 25 players are allowed per game (it started out as 20 but has been upped to 25) .

This means that all players have an equal chance of winning the full house prize (the only one on offer) and that chance is never less than 4% (it will be more in a game that isn’t full).  Mecca say the chances of winning at least one FH in an hour of play is 72%.

So what happens if more than 25 people want to buy tickets to a game of BOB?  Easy, just open another BOB room!  The BOB rooms aren’t like normal bingo rooms though – they don’t show up separately in the lobby.  Players are automatically sent to whichever room has space when they click the BOB tile in the lobby, via the BOB loading screen.  This does mean that it can take a bit longer to get into the room that when going to a regular bingo room, and you only find out how many players there actually are after the game starts.

BOB is designed for players to win little and often.  With a 50p buy-in price, the prizes are between £7 and £10 depending on whether the game is full or not.  The room is planned to be open 24/7 (but isn’t yet) and pre-buy is available (but currently this is only for the remainder of the day, not the full 7 days in advance). 50 ball bingo is by nature fast to play as you only have to mark off 10 numbers, but BOB is not quite as fast as you might think because of the limit on the number of players.  A game starts every 2 minutes and 15 seconds (in as many rooms as are needed).

So do the players like it?  Reactions in the chat were mixed but most seemed positive – what people didn’t like wasn’t the new game itself (what’s not to like about winning more often!), but the fact that it replaced some other bingo rooms they enjoyed – Linka-Balls and Clickety Click.

Until 22nd October, players can try BOB with a stakeback offer; every day, all players who play £10 or more on BOB and don’t win at least one full house can claim 100% of their stakes back as cash the next day.  There is NO limit on the amount of cashback as the more you play, the smaller the chance of not winning anything gets.
