Silk Bingo is a Dragonfish bingo site that was relaunched in the summer of 2013 as a sister site to Gossip Bingo and other sites on the United network. It’s had a couple more updates since then.
The most recent update put almost all of the site inside the lobby, so not visible without a login. The landing page that remains visible to everyone is pretty generic, with a few game tiles at the bottom to indicate some of the slots that are available and a welcome offer banner featuring a blonde model in a rather splendid red silk dress (that’s the extent of the theming). The welcome offer itself is OK but nothing too special.
So…what’s inside the lobby? Bingo, slots and player promotions is the short answer but let’s elaborate.
First, the bingo. Silk Bingo is part of the United network which means it shares some bingo rooms – widely networked 75 and 90, playing card bingo, Mystery Jackpots and a couple of others with absolutely every other site on the Dragonfish software (not always easy to spot as the bingo rooms are given different names at different sites). The rest of the rooms are only shared with other United sites; there’s more 75 and 90 ball bingo, four free bingo rooms, several rooms where you can win spins on different slot games and a range of sliding jackpot games (offering a very small chance of winning a substantial prize). As at all Dragonfish sites, you can only buy tickets for the next game due to take place in the room in question, not off the schedule. And also as at all Dragonfish sites, if you’re looking for any form of bingo apart from 75 ball, 90 ball or 52 ball, you’re out of luck.
Next, the slots. There’s hundreds of them, many more than you would think from looking at the home page. Most but not all can be played with Dragonfish games bonus and the ones that can’t be are clearly marked as such in the lobby. It’s a great selection, but Dragonfish are not the quickest at adding new games, so you may find it is a while before the hot new release you want to try shows up.
Finally, the player promotions, or rather the player reward scheme. This is based on trophies; each time you collect one of these it contributes to filling a meter (the rate at which it does so depends on how hard the trophy is to get) and when the meter is full you get to spin a prize wheel to win bonus, spins, loyalty coins and other goodies. Some trophies are monthly specials which change every month reflecting what other promotions (such as special bingo games) are running, and other can be collected multiple times as they are based on daily or weekly play levels. This means that players can continue their progression long term and that is probably the main reason that this particular group of Dragonfish sites remain popular with players.
