Wink Bingo is Broadway Gaming’s flagship Dragonfish bingo site and so guaranteed to get any innovations or extras before all of the others. The new welcome offer includes a generous bingo bonus.
Wink Bingo is one of the best known and longest lived of Dragonfish bingo sites. It’s been around so long (getting on for 20years!) that it’s outlived the dancing dog in the TV advert (remember that?). It’s always been a house owned site rather than a white label; up until 2021 it was owned and operated by 888 Holdings and since then it’s been owned and operated by Broadway Gaming (who bought 888’s entire bingo business including the Dragonfish software).
Wink Bingo has had many updates and redesigns over the years and the most recent redesign (quite some time ago now, in 2018) came as quite a surprise as while everyone around them was getting rid of cartoon characters and other theming that might appeal to children from their websites, Wink did the complete opposite and replaced its pictures of real people with cartoons. The cartoons in question are in the style of Roy Lichtenstein and are therefore very unlikely to have youth appeal, but still it was a bold move. The main purpose of the redesign was to introduce a new player reward system which included the option of redeeming rewards for shopping vouchers, but that is long gone and now Wink Bingo has the same loyalty shop as other house owned sites including 888Ladies.
While the overall look of the site hasn’t changed much since 2018, the lobby has had several upgrades since then, the most recent being the addition of “Express Buy” which allows players to buy bingo tickets for the next game without first having to go into the bingo room in question.
The registration process at Wink Bingo is the same as at any other Dragonfish site, with three screens to complete.
The Dragonfish bingo product offers just three types of bingo – 75 ball, 90 ball and 52-5 (which is playing card based) and not many of the bingo rooms have a chat window (it was removed from most Dragonfish bingo sites in 2024 and while Wink Bingo still has chat, it is only available at peak times). The “Top Of The Shop” network 90 ball room has a substantial progressive jackpot and the regular prizes, while modest, are still worth playing for. The same cannot be said of some of the other rooms and from time to time player numbers are so low that games don’t play. If you’re looking for lively bingo rooms with worthwhile prize money where you can join in with the community, Wink Bingo no longer hits the mark.
For players who just like to play a bit of bingo from time to time and aren’t interested in chatting, Wink still has something to offer. Although they no longer run weekly jackpot games, Dragonfish do run seasonal jackpot games, typically with prize pools of a few hundred pounds. Each of these games runs in a room of its own to make it easy for players to buy tickets in advance. There’s no facility at Dragonfish to buy tickets from the schedule; Express Buy does let you buy tickets in several bingo rooms at the same time without leaving the lobby, but only for the next game.
Another thing that Wink Bingo doesn’t have is penny bingo – tickets are priced from 5p each. There’s a free bingo room but it’s only open to players who have made a deposit in the last 2 weeks.
Wink Bingo is unusual amongst Dragonfish sites in that you can see almost the full range of around 400 slot games without being logged in (some are only visible inside the lobby due to being themed on cuddly toys etc).
The games library includes all time classics such as Immortal Romance, Eye of Horus, Big Bass Bonanza, Temple of Iris and many more. There’s quite a bias towards the Microgaming back catalogue (which is to be expected given Broadway’s close ties with Microgaming). The progressive jackpots at Wink Bingo are all by Eyecon.
There’s an area for new releases but the only titles that tend to make it there in a timely manner are those from Games Global (who own the previously mentioned Microgaming back catalogue). For example, the most recently released game in the Big Bass series they had was more than 6 months old.
Wink Bingo also has around 35 Slingo games but as they do not have their own lobby area, you’ll need to use the search bar to find them.
If you hang around in the lobby for a few minutes without choosing something to play, you’ll get a pop up suggestion for a popular game.
Most of the promotions at Wink Bingo are deposit offers and you’ll find them under “Offers” in the lobby after you log in rather than on the promotions page. At the time of writing (December 2024) there’s a daily cashback on losses offer that appears in both places, but note that the cashback expires if not claimed the next day.
Like other Dragonfish sites, Wink Bingo has a limited range of deposit options – it’s basically a debit card (either directly or via Apple Pay) or PayPal (which may require proving you are the registered account holder).
Wink Bingo has an Android app which you can access via a QR code or by visiting the Play Store.
Dragonfish bingo sites may come and go but Wink Bingo goes on and on and on – it really is a bit of a national institution.
Having said that, the emphasis is shifting more and more towards slots at Dragonfish so if you mainly want to play bingo, you might want to consider a different bingo product entirely. For those who like to play slots with the occasional bit of bingo, Wink Bingo may suit very well.
