Gossip Bingo

Gossip Bingo is a Dragonfish bingo site with a long history.  Originally launched in 2010, it became especially popular in 2014 when it underwent a makeover to be fronted by a colourful cast of characters – Cheap Charlie, Bonus Betty, Freebie Freddie and Jackpot Jane. The latter three were retro styled people while Cheap Charlie was a cute dog. At the time, a lot of bingo site theming involved cartoons, but the Gossip Bingo characters were created using photographs of real people (and in the case of Charlie, a real dog).

There were advantages and disadvantages to this approach. It was certainly memorable and attention grabbing; it clearly wasn’t possible, however, to reunite the models for any further photo shoots.  This meant that when they needed a fresh pic for a new promotion, they had to Photoshop one of the existing ones.  Jackpot Jane in particular was repeatedly Photoshopped to change her clothes and the colour of her ENORMOUS hair bow and indeed, she’s still on the home page of the site today sporting yet another digitally created outfit.

An unexpected advantage was NOT having cartoon characters on the site in 2017 when so many other bingo sites were told by the Gambling Commission to remove them.  Cheap Charlie still had to go, though, as he was just too cute and cuddly.

Five years down the line and Gossip Bingo, like many other Dragonfish bingo and slot sites, is now just a single page that can be viewed without a login and everything else has been moved inside the lobby.  It’s retained much more of its unique character that other sites, though – Jackpot Jane, the shocking pink colour scheme – due to never having had to remove the cartoons.

Inside the lobby, Gossip Bingo has the same bingo rooms as its sister sites on the “United” network and following the refresh of the Dragonfish bingo product in autumn 2022 that’s one of the best lineups you’ll find at any Dragonfish site.  Some rooms (Linked and Loaded 75 and 90, Bingo Deal, Mystery Jackpots and a couple of others) are shared by all Dragonfish bingo sites but there are also a number of United specials; there’s several rooms where you can win spins on various slot games, plus some free rooms and jackpot rooms all running sliding jackpot games.

On the slots side, they have many more games than you would think given what is on the home page.  New games are added regularly but it can sometimes take a while for Dragonfish to make new releases available.  Most but not all of the slot games can be played with a bonus and the ones that aren’t are clearly marked Real Money Only in the lobby so it’s easy to spot which is which.

All United sites now have a player reward system which is based on collecting trophies to fill a meter which gives out a spin of the special prize wheel when full.  The wheel pays out spins, bonuses and other goodies and most of the trophies can be collected once a day or once a week so it’s easy to progress.

All this means that even after all these years and redesigns, Gossip Bingo still has lots to offer players.
