City Bingo

City Bingo is part of the same group of Costa Bingo and out of the sites in the group it is one of the least affected by the Gambling Commission’s crackdown on cartoon images back in 2017.  The site did have a cartoon mascot – City Cat – but conceptually, the theming works just as well without him.

The sites in the Costa group used to run lots of exclusive promotions and at City Bingo, they were themed on that month’s city. The names of the promotions, any slot games that were involved and often the prizes that were on offer would be in keeping with whatever the city was.  This all stopped a few years ago with the exception of the monthly Guess The City promotion.  You’ll be shown a list of possible destinations; guess correctly and you’ll win a share of 250,000 Diamonds from the loyalty scheme.  These are well worth having; they are transferable across all the sites on the scheme (including 888 owned sites like 888 Ladies and Wink Bingo as well as all of the Costa sister sites) and can be redeemed in the shop for slot spins, bonus, free bingo tickets and other goodies.

The loyalty scheme isn’t the only thing that City Bingo shares with 888 Ladies; most of the bingo rooms are also shared (although they have different names so it is not always easy to spot it) and some are networked even more widely, bringing in the classic Dragonfish network as well as a number of other Dragonfish sites. This helps to keep the rooms busy and lively.

Not all of the bingo rooms are networked beyond the Costa group of sites.  The most notable exclusive is the series of invitation only £1000 bingo games every Friday.

The only snag with the City Bingo welcome bonus (indeed all bingo bonuses at City and related sites) is where you can use it since most of the bingo rooms are “Real Money”.  The “Buy In Bonus” tab in the lobby includes all the rooms that can be played with bonus and it’s basically one 90 ball room and some weekly jackpots.  So not ideal if you prefer 75 ball.  If you’re playing with cash there’s a MUCH bigger choice with both types of 75 ball and 52 ball (playing card) bingo on offer as well as several more 90 ball rooms).

The public areas of City Bingo barely even give an inkling of the range of games that can be found in the lobby under the slots tab; there’s more than 50 instant win games including Slingo and scratchcards, around 70 progressive jackpots and more than 800 other games.  Some are “Real Money Only” but there’s still many, many games to choose from if you decide to redeem your Diamonds for a slot bonus (you won’t be getting a slot bonus from the welcome offer as the free spins really are free spins, paying in cash not slot bonus).

The Guess The City promotion alone would be enough to set City Bingo apart from its siblings, and now there’s a bingo bonus welcome offer as well it looks even more attractive – as long as you like 90 ball bingo!
