Bingo Street is certainly not going to win any prizes for design. The site has been around for donkeys’ years and it shows – it looks pretty unappealing to the casual visitor. Once registered and logged in, of course, it’s a different story – just like every other Dragonfish site it’s on one of the most up to date versions of the Dragonfish lobby.
Bingo Street is part of the group of Dragonfish sites once known as “Joy of Bingo”; the best known bingo sites in the group are 888Ladies and Wink Bingo and if you’ve played at either of those the lobby will look pretty familiar. If you haven’t, here’s the rundown:
- Most Dragonfish bingo sites are white labels, meaning that the Dragonfish software and licensing and management services are supplied to the operator by 888’s bingo division. In the case of the Joy of Bingo sites, the operator IS and always has been 888 (this will change in 2022 as the whole of 888’s bingo business is now owned by Broadway Gaming). The Joy of Bingo network was therefore kept separate from the “Dragonfish network” used by the white label sites.
- In 2022, the demarcation between different networks of Dragonfish sites has largely disappeared and several bingo rooms are available across all Dragonfish powered sites, although this is not always easy to spot as they are called different names at different sites. For example, the “Ignite” group of bingo sites which were originally white labels and used to be on a different network again were merged with Joy of Bingo after being bought by 888 and brought back in house, and thus the room called Bucket’n’Spade at Costa Bingo is now the same room as Nutty Ninety at 888Ladies. And it doesn’t stop there – the same room also appears at Dragonfish network bingo sites as Chatterbox.
- This all means that Bingo Street has a good selection of 90 ball, 75 ball and 52 ball bingo rooms, all of which are networked, some much more widely than others. So far, so good.
- There’s one important thing you need to know, though, and this goes for all Joy of Bingo and all Ignite sites. There’s a tab in the lobby called Easy Access and the rooms in there are the ONLY rooms you can play in with bingo bonus. At the time of writing (April 2022) that includes four fixed jackpot games that play once a week (admittedly with attractive prize money) and a 52-5 room that is only open in the evenings. If you want to play bingo during the day, the only option is the “24 Cards” 90 ball room with 5p tickets and rather underwhelming prize money and as there’s no pre-buy at Dragonfish, if you claim the maximum bingo bonus from the welcome offer you’re going to be spending a lot of time in that room. If that’s your idea of fun, you’ll certainly be extracting a lot of entertainment value from your bonus. If not, you might prefer one of the Dragonfish sites that has a bigger range of rooms you can play in with bonus.
Bingo Street has the same “Bingo Shop” loyalty scheme as other bingo sites in the group. The scheme covers a number of Dragonfish network sites such as Bingo Hearts as well as Costa Bingo, 888Ladies and all sister sites and many Dragonfish slot sites. It has the major advantage that loyalty coins can be collected at one site (via deposit offers, play, promotions or winning them in a special bingo room) and spent at any other site where you have an account.
Promotions and slot games are also the same as at sister sites and again, there’s a lot more going on in both those areas than you would think from the home page. Bingo Street is certainly worth a look, then, if you want to collect a good old fashioned bingo bonus and aren’t too bothered about the range of rooms you can use it in.
