XL Casino is on the Dragonfish platform, and that means it’s more of a slot site than a casino.

XL Casino was launched in 2020 but hasn’t had much publicity until recently. Like its sister site Genie Riches, XL Casino is ultimately owned by Rank Digital Services and this means it has all of the extras and professional service you’d expect from a big brand.

The selection of slot games is pretty good too. Progressive jackpots are by Eyecon and they also have their own area, as do Slingo and instant win games. One thing that Dragonfish are not so good at, however, is adding new releases; there is an area for new games and they do frequently add fresh titles, but they tend to have been out for a few months or even longer (as was the case when we visited as they had just added a number of – albeit excellent – games from the Microgaming back catalogue).

When you sign up at XL Casino you’ll be asked if you want to opt in to receiving exclusive offers; choose yes and you’ll be offered the opportunity to opt into or out of all four channels separately – email, SMS, phone and post. This is ideal if, for instance, you want to participate in promotions but don’t want to be bothered with phone calls.

Player promotions at XL Casino are largely based around the Trophy Prize Wheel and if you’ve ever played at a Dragonfish bingo or slots site where Rank Digital Services is the brand owner, you’ll recognise this immediately. You fill the meter by collecting trophies, and when it is full you get a spin of the wheel where you can win slot spins and other goodies. Each trophy fills the meter by a different amount (depending on what you have to collect the trophy) and many of the trophies can be collected repeatedly. For example, if you’ve just collected the trophy for playing £10 on slots in a day, you can play £10 on slots again the following day and collect it again. This type of gamification makes it much more entertaining and interesting for players.

Dragonfish casinos have two big advantages for those seeking to play with bonus. One is that there’s no complex rules about which games count towards wagering requirements. Apart from games that can’t be played with bonus at all (marked Real Money Only in the lobby), all slot games count at 100%. The other is that there’s no time limit on bonuses (although there is on spins) as long as you keep logging into your account regularly. XL Casino is certainly one of the better Dragonfish slot sites out there so if all this appeals, it is definitely worth checking out.
