The Sun Play, which is associated with the Sun newspaper, is new on the Jumpman Gaming platform for November 2023.

You may be thinking that you’ve heard of The Sun Play before and you’d be right; the site had a previous incarnation on the Nektan platform from 2018 to 2021. The player base hasn’t carried over so for all practical purposes it’s a brand new site.

This new version of The Sun Play looks great. The red and white branding of the Sun newspaper permeates the site and most players will really appreciate the reassurance that comes with playing somewhere that’s backed by a household name. And if you like to play lots of different slot games on a range of devices, the Jumpman Gaming platform will suit you very well.

The lobby works equally well on computers and on mobile phones; there’s quite a few different lobby areas and they can be accessed by scrolling sideways (on a big screen) or swiping (on a phone). While there is a collection of instant win games in the scratchcards part of the lobby, and a decent selection of RNG and live casino games in the table games part of the lobby, what The Sun Play is really all about (as you’ve probably guessed from the name) is slot games, of which there are hundreds.

First port of call if you’re looking for something exciting to play is the Hot Slots area in the lobby. Here, you’ll find a selection of perennially popular games including Rainbow Riches, Thunderstruck II, 9 Masks of Fire and Gonzo’s Quest. If you don’t spot anything you like in there, try the frequently updated Newest area which contains the latest additions (most but not all of which are recent releases). Or check out the Casino area which has slot games by Playtech and Quickspin. You can also search for games by name or scroll through the entire A-Z list; once you’ve opened and played a game it will automatically be added to the My Faves area (which comes pre-populated with more evergreen favourites including Starburst and Big Bass Bonanza).

The Sun Play has lots of progressive jackpot slots but they are mostly by just one games provider – Eyecon – and there aren’t any really big ones. It should also be noted that they can’t be played with bonus, but with so many other games to choose from this is unlikely to be an issue for players.

Unlike other Jumpman sites, The Sun Play doesn’t have any bingo rooms. As the Sun already has a bingo site (Sun Bingo) with a bingo product that is vastly superior to what’s available at Jumpman, that’s the place to go if you want to play bingo.

All of these games are served up in a responsive lobby that is almost stark in its simplicity; there’s no information about any of the games apart from the game tiles themselves, not even the name or jackpot size. This keeps the lobby free of any clutter which is important for usability on mobile phones.

Promotions at The Sun Play are run by the Jumpman network and delivered in two ways.

Prize draws, slots promotions run in conjunction with games providers and a number of redeposit offers (which are all based round versions of the Mega Reel) appear on the promotions page.
Further deposit offers (again all based round variations of the Mega Reel) are sent via whatever channel or channels you opt into when you register. These are typically only valid on the day on which they are sent.

If you like this style of offer, where you never know just what you’re going to get when you make a deposit until but have to wait till afterwards to find out, The Sun Play could be right up your street, especially as it’s associated with such a big household name.
