First, the bad news. Not only is the welcome offer not very competitive as compared to other Progress Play casinos, but you also need to do a bit of digging once you get to the site to find out that the “welcome package up to £400” is actually made up of three separate deposit offers all of which are just 25% or 30%.  If you want to claim the whole £400 of bonuses you’ll have to deposit a whopping *checks back of envelope calculation* £1400 in cash.

Welcome offer apart, what’s Queen’s Guild like as an online casino?  Well, it’s got one very obvious advantage over some other Progress Play casinos – it’s got a sportsbook. And it’s also got another advantage over many other Progress Play casinos that may not have occurred to you – it’s launched directly on to the new 2023 upgraded lobby instead of being migrated from the old version of the lobby.  Given the issues that some other sites have had with that migration causing parts of the site to behave erratically, that has to be a good thing.

The new lobby itself is also generally a good thing.  The game tiles have been resized and changed from landscape to portrait to make them work much better on a mobile phone than the ones in the previous lobby.  It’s also much easier to filter by the more than 50 games providers they work with and this works slightly differently depending on the type of device you are using; on a large screen you’ll see a pop-up window with a button for each provider but on a phone, you need to scroll down to see the sections for each provider (this doesn’t mean you need to scroll past all of the games by one provider to see the one below, as there’s also sideways scrolling meaning many of the games in each section start offscreen).  You can also use the search box to find all the games by one provider if you already know which one you’re interested in.

The use of sideways scrolling in all versions of the lobby is a bit of a masterstroke, actually – it makes it possible for there to be plenty of game categorisation to help players find games they want to play but stops the screen getting too cluttered which can be a big issue with mobile casinos.

All in all, Queen’s Guild is a brand spanking new casino on a popular platform, with the added attraction of a sportsbook – it’s a just a shame the welcome offer is a bit sub par.
