Fishin Frenzy Bingo, But Which One?

What Is Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo?
Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo is a bingo game themed on Blueprint Gaming’s incredibly popular series of slot games. Confusingly, there are two completely different versions of it, one brand new and one not so new.
Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo – Gamesys Version
The recently launched Gamesys version of Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo looks stunning, with the balls replaced by swimming fish, but is essentially good old 90 ball bingo with a couple of themed bonus features.
Firstly there are three reels containing symbols from the slot game that spin as the numbers are being called. If a scatter comes up, it’s held for a respin and if another scatter comes up as a result of that, it’s held for another respin. Get to three scatter to put the game enters Bonus Mode for the next few ball calls (currently 5).
Each fish has a different prize value attached to it and during Bonus Mode, when a number is called that prize value gets added to any tickets you hold where that number is daubed. Should you win full house, all prize values added to the ticket you win on are added to the full house prize.

Secondly, the fish that bears the number 7 is golden. If full house is won on number 7, the progressive jackpot pays out. It’s seeded at £50 but was more than £350 when I tried the game out.
Tickets are priced from 10p and you can buy up to 60 tickets per game. Your top performing tickets appear on screen and numbers are daubed by a very traditional looking dabber, so it’s still very recognisably 90 ball bingo (and has the traditional three prizes for 1L, 2L and full house).
Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo – Entain Version
The Entain version of Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo, which was launched last year, is a very different kettle of fish:
- It’s 50 ball not 90 ball and there’s no cards as such – your numbers appear on fish swimming across the screen and when one of them is called, that fish is caught and reeled in by the fisherman from the slot game. It barely looks like a bingo game at all.
- It’s a single ticket game with tickets priced from 10p
- It’s specifically designed so you win little and often as only 5 players are allowed per game (note that the game will not start with fewer than 5 players)
- It’s also specifically designed to look great on mobile phones
- You can see how close the other 4 players are to winning

This version of Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo has beautiful visuals, but it hasn’t really caught on with players. Why? Well, winning more often sounds great but it also means smaller prizes. The full house prize in a 10p game of Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo at an Entain site is just 45p and there’s no bonus features or progressive jackpot to play for. Could it be that this is just a bit too boring?
Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo – Our Verdict
We reckon the Gamesys version of this game is a really nice twist on everyone’s favourite form of bingo. The early stages of a 90 ball bingo game can be a little bit boring, but in Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo the reels spinning (and maybe triggering Bonus Mode) and the fish swimming in provide a nice bit of visual interest.
What about the Entain version? It has beautiful visuals, but it hasn’t really caught on with players. Why? Well, winning more often sounds great but it also means smaller prizes. The full house prize in a 10p game of Fishin’ Frenzy Bingo at an Entain site is just 45p and there’s no bonus features or progressive jackpot to play for. Could it be that this is just a bit too boring?
Don’t fancy either of these bingo games? There’s always Big Bass Bingo instead.
