What Is Free Vibes?

tombola’s free daily game Merge, which was launched in May 2021, was removed in November 2021 to make way for the tombola Advent Calendar and other Christmas promotions.  Instead of returning after New Year, it’s been retired and replaced for 2022 by a brand new game, Free Vibes.

Many daily free games – for example those at Double Bubble Bingo – have to be played every day to collect sets of symbols over the course of a week. Tombola did have a game like that a few years ago (Stars) but all of their free daily games since have been standalone games which award prizes on the spot, and Free Vibes continues in this vein.  The beauty of this type of daily game is that if you miss a day, it doesn’t matter.

Free Vibes is a fairly simple (but hugely entertaining) game.  It has a lot in common with one of its predecessors Worlds which in turn resembled the tombola arcade instant game Bubble. In all three games, you collect sets of the same symbol to win a prize and the bigger the prize, the bigger the set of symbols you need to collect to win.

How To Play Free Vibes

A game of Free Vibes starts with an array of 10 spots, 4 of which contain coloured symbols. Touch a symbol to make it fly off to the left hand side into the corresponding collector; meanwhile, another symbol appears on a different spot.  You’ll be given 16 symbols altogether, which can be collected one at a time or all in one go using the Collect All button.  If you manage to fill up one of the collectors, you’ll win the cash prize associated with it.  Here’s what you need to fill each of the collectors and what you can win:

• RED – 8 symbols – £5000
• BLUE – 7 symbols  – £500
• PURPLE – 6 symbols – £50
• GREEN – 5 symbols – £20
• YELLOW – 4 symbols – £10
• ORANGE – 3 symbols – £2

All of these prizes are cash and just as with all other Tombola daily games, you get two shots at it every day, once on Tombola Bingo and once on Tombola Arcade.  There’s up to £40,000 to be won each week!

That’s not all there is to it though, not by a long chalk!  To experience the most entertaining part of the game, you’ll need to ensure that you DON’T

1. Skip through with the Collect All button, or
2. Play with the sound off

Why?  The clue is in the name of the game.

Each of the symbols represents a musical note (or vibe) which plays when you collect it, and at the end of the game you get a playback of the tune you made with the message “This is how your game sounded”. How cool is that?!!!

Free Vibes is completely free to play for registered Tombola players whose age and identity has been verified.  You don’t need to make a deposit but you do need to opt into receiving SMS communications as the game is activated using a code which is sent weekly via text message.

UPDATE: In June 2022 the prize structure of the game was changed.  The prizes are now £5000, £100, £20, £5, £1 and 25p and this will result in there being many more winners each week.  Free Vibes is also now only playable on Tombola Arcade; on Tombola Bingo it’s been replaced by the new game Free Form.
