99 Royale is a revolutionary new concept in slot games which originating studio g.games have been working on for the last five years. Finally, it’s live – so what’s so special about it?
99 Royale is not itself a slot game – it’s a suite of slot games which allow players to spin real money slots while also participating in a multiplayer battle royale with up to 99 players (hence the name). G.Games have created a dozen 99 Royale slot games and three of them – Ra The King, Ragnarok and Cherry Blossom – are part of the initial launch at UK sites.
The popularity of products like Slot Masters shows that there is a real gap in the market for this kind of multiplayer mayhem, but it’s never before been done with real money games.
99 Royale – The Multiplayer Environment
When you first load a 99 Royale slot game, you’ll be asked to pick a username. That username will then stick with you every time you play 99 Royale again at that casino; if you play it again at a different casino you will need to pick a fresh username.
Press the Play button to be put into the battle queue. You’ll see an estimated wait time (usually less than 30 seconds). While you’re waiting, choose your stake value. You can also play a few spins on the slot if you like.
Once the battle starts, play the slot. Every win gives you power which you can use to attack other players and steal their health. You start with 1000 health and if it gets reduced to 0, you’re eliminated. Last player standing wins the top prize. The battle prize depends on how much players win during the battle as well as on your own spin value, so goes up as the round goes on.
Battles can have anything from 8 to 99 players depending on how many players join the queue; most of the battles I played in had a full complement of 99 players but one had just 12. In a 99 player battle, the top 15 win cash prizes (over and above any winnings from the slot game itself) and in a battle with fewer players, the number of players who win prizes is lower; it’s displayed just before the battle starts so you know what to aim for.
99 Royale runs in portrait mode regardless of the device you’re playing on, with the slot you’re playing underneath a display of icons representing the other players. You can see which of the three slot games they’re playing, who’s scored a win in their slot game (green $ sign), your current target and who’s currently targetting you (yellow and red surround).
You can choose to attack a random player, the weakest players, the strongest players or anyone who’s attacking you; all this is controlled by the icons above the power button. Eliminating other players helps you to level up and levelling up increases the amount of power you get from wins. When you eliminate another player, you inherit their kill count and this too helps you to level up.
To win a round of 99 Royale, you need slot game wins to give you the power to attack and this is of course a matter of luck. But there’s also strategy; who do you target at which stage of the battle and when you get a bonus or big win, do you use all of the power at once to level up and gain masses of health or do you save it for a while? Being in the lead early in the battle can make you a big target for everyone else!

Ra The King
Ra The King is an Egyptian themed slot with 10 paylines and a “book” game mechanic. The minimum stake is 10p and the Return To Player for solo mode is 94.06%, while the overall theoretical Return To Player for battle mode is 96.52%.
Ragnarok
Ragnarok is a Viking themed slot with 25 paylines. It has walking stacked wilds that carry an increasing multiplier plus a spin the wheel bonus round. The minimum stake is 25p and the Return To Player for solo mode is 94.02%, while the overall theoretical return to player for battle mode is 96.45%.
Cherry Blossom
