Mecca Bingo Set A New World Record

-
Updated: 14th Aug 2024
We’ve recently seen world records set by UK bingo sites for the biggest bingo balls and the biggest bingo card – but Mecca Bingo have done something a bit different and smashed the world record for the largest game of office bingo (previously set at 97 participants by a team of TaskUs employees in the Philippines in 2012).
The record breaking game was played on 12th September 2017 at the Rank Group’s headquarters in Maidenhead, and the 235 players came from all over the Rank Group. The caller, Paul Heath, had 28 years of experience at Mecca Bingo with tens of thousands of bingo games under his belt, so they were in good hands.

By all accounts they had lots of fun breaking the record, but that wasn’t all – everyone who took part made a donation to the Carers Trust charity (a regular charity partner of Mecca Bingo via the Rank Cares initiative which began in 2014), amounting to over £400.
Gail Scott-Spicer, CEO of Carers Trust, had this to say about the record breaking bingo game:
“We were delighted to hear about the Mecca Bingo and Rank Group teams fundraising success in the name of Carers Trust. The money raised by the team combined with the amazing amounts of money raised throughout the year will help Carers Trust to support thousands of unpaid carers through a grants fund, to give carers the equipment and skills they need to carry out their caring roles, whilst also ensuring that their own health and wellbeing are looked after.”
Well done everyone at Mecca Bingo!
