Our Slot of the Month for November is Reel Talent by Just For The Win. Like earlier titles such as Rainbrew and Deco Diamonds from the same studio, Reel Talent is distributed by Microgaming.
How To Play Reel Talent
Reel Talent has a 5×3 reels array, 20 paylines and RTP 96.3%. It is themed on a talent show and most of the symbols represent the competitors and their equipment. There’s a rabbit magician with a hand of cards, a fire-eating crocodile with a torch, a rocking wolf with a guitar and a lion singer with a microphone.
Reel Talent has a simple, compelling gimmick that gives any win a chance of turning into an epic win. Next to the reels there’s an area with space for 3 symbols; this is the Symbol Storage Area.
It all starts with a win; the winning symbol is placed in the storage area. More than one symbol may be stored; this happens if there are multiple line wins on different symbols (but note that Wilds do NOT get placed in storage).
A re-spin then takes place. If it does not produce a win the symbol comes out of storage again and normal play resumes. If it DOES produce a win, the winning symbol goes into the next vacant space in the storage area, even if it is the same as a symbol that is already there. If the storage area is not full another re-spin takes place. If all three spaces in the storage area become full during the re-spins, a Superspin is triggered.
There are three types of Superspins depending on how many different symbols are in the storage.
- Showtime Superspin – 3 different symbols in storage
- Big Stage Superspin – 2 different symbols in storage
- Solo Performance Superspin – all symbols in storage are the same
For the Superspin, all symbols on the reels are replaced with the symbols from the storage – and in the case of Solo Performance, this results in a full screen of the same symbol and a fairly impressive win even with one of the lower scoring symbols (70x stake for the lowest).
That’s all there is to it – sounds easy, doesn’t it? Well, the downside is that three wins in a row are pretty rare, wins in general are not very common and when you do win, 3 of a kind usually pays less than your stake – but that’s high variance for you!
