The Majestic Bingo brand was born in 2014 when 8 Apollo bingo clubs and 7 Seldis Cooper bingo clubs from all over the UK were purchased and rebranded to form at that time the UK’s third biggest retail bingo chain.  The retail part of the business was heavily hit by the pandemic and it wasn’t surprising that in 2021 they chose to launch an online bingo operation; this was kept entirely separate from the land based operation with the retail arm run by Majestic Bingo Limited and the online arm run by Majestic Bingo Online Limited.

The 8 bingo halls that remain in the Majestic chain (only one of which, the one in Worcester, is actually called Majestic Bingo) are now owned by the Real Fun Group, a fresh name in bingo hall operation who add the Majestic clubs to the two they already operate.  The Majestic name is staying!

It’s always reassuring for players when an online bingo brand has such a strong bricks and mortar presence in the UK.

Bingo Games

Majestic Bingo has all of the bingo rooms that you’d normally expect to find at a Dragonfish bingo site.  There’s a decent line-up of 75 and 90 ball bingo rooms with ticket prices from 5p, plus a 52-5 room based on playing cards.  Some rooms are open 24/7 so there’s always a game you can join; there’s no schedule buy at Dragonfish, though, so you can only buy tickets for the next game to be played in whichever room you’re in. Now that Dragonfish have stopped running most of their jackpot games, prize money tends to be fairly modest and the rooms can be on the quiet side at off peak times.

Although there’s no penny bingo at Majestic Bingo, there’s a free bingo room (with very small prizes) that anyone who has recently deposited can play in.

Majestic Bingo also has some special weekly and monthly bingo games that are only shared with a handful of other sites, including FAB50 (a 75 ball game with a £50 prize pool) and Mocktail Party (a 90 ball game with a £200 prize pool).

Other Games

The slots part of the Majestic Bingo lobby contains hundreds of games and although many of them are real money only there’s still plenty that can be played with bonus; Fluffy in Space, Clover Rollover 2, 9 Masks of Fire, Immortal Romance and many others all fit the bill (and yes, just as you might surmise from the games that were mentioned, they are very big on Microgaming and Eyecon games).  A selection of bonus playable slots also appear as mini games inside the bingo rooms so you can play bingo and slots at the same time if you like.  All of the progressive jackpots are by Eyecon.

Dragonfish add new slot games from time to time but these are often back catalogue rather than the latest releases.

There’s little choice of other games apart from slots. It’s been years since any Dragonfish sites offered casino games, and the only instant win games we could find (by using the search box as there’s no lobby tab for them) were Slingo games (around 25 of them).

Other Stuff To Consider

Mobile usability at Majestic Bingo is excellent; the latest version of the Dragonfish lobby functions well on all devices and what looks like a rather sparse lobby design on a computer screen works really well on a mobile phone as there’s no clutter.

The range of payment options at Dragonfish, on the other hand, is on the weak side; you can use a debit card (either directly or via Apple Pay) or PayPal to deposit and that’s it.  As for withdrawals, they are definitely on the slow side.

Promotions at Majestic Bingo appear inside the lobby and largely consist of redeposit offers.  Dragonfish also run special jackpot games from time to time, usually coincding with a seasonal event such as Christmas.

Final Thoughts

All in all this is a well presented and well run Dragonfish bingo site that will appeal to fans of the Dragonfish bingo product as well as to players who’ve enjoyed the Majestic Bingo experience offline.  It’s a shame the welcome offer is a bit underwhelming.
