Back in February 2019, Best New Bingo Sites won the iGB Affiliate Award for Best Bingo Website against some stiff competition. And now, we’ve done it again, or rather FTD Digital (the parent organisation of our sister site WDW Bingo as well as us) has done it. This latest award is the EGR Operator Award for Bingo Affiliate 2021, and very nice looking it is too!
The EGR Operator Awards are often referred to as “the Oscars of the iGaming industry”so this award is really quite a big deal for us.
The awards ceremony, a full on black tie event which took place on 25th November 2021, was certainly something very special. Hundreds of industry guests filled the Great Room at the Grosvenor House hotel on London’s Park Lane. This splendid two storey venue was originally an ice rink; pre dinner drinks were served in what was once the spectators’ gallery and dinner tables were laid downstairs. Visible just to the left of the stage in the photo is the blimpcam supplied by one of the event sponsors; during the dinner it cruised around catching all the tables of guests on camera.
FTD Digital has been nominated for this particular award a couple of times before but this is the first time we’ve actually won. We hope it’s the first of many! As to why we won, the judges said we “provide players with a fantastic insight into the world of online bingo, with both sites being regularly refreshed with the latest news and bingo games. In addition, as they have mentioned, they also have unique promotions not found anywhere else“.
It was great to see several of the bingo sites we work with taking home awards as well. Foxy Bingo won Bingo Operator, Paddy Power Bingo won Marketing Campaign of the Year, Mr Q won Slots Operator, Tombola won Safer Gambling Operator of the Year and the headline Operator of the Year award went to Entain, with Gamesys highly commended.
So what next? Can we make it a double this awards season and take home the iGB award as well? Best New Bingo Sites has already been shortlisted for the 2022 Best Bingo Affiliate award but we’re going to have to wait a while to find out how we did as that award ceremony, which was originally supposed to take place at the start of February 2022, is being rescheduled for April along with the industry conference it is a part of.
