Best New Bingo Sites Joins Casino Talks at Great.com

I’m super excited to say that Best New Bingo Sites has been featured in the Casino Talks series of interviews at Great.com.  This international initiative brings together entrepreneurs, editors-in-chief like me and other iGaming industry people from all over the world to talk about how they got into the business and why they love what they do. Here’s what the Great team had to say about their Casino Talk with me – “We are very grateful that Sue took time out for her day to answer questions for us at Great. We believe in transparency and helping each other in the gaming industry. In the end these efforts will put the players in a better position by getting to know the actors behind the scenes of sites like Best New Bingo Sites and many others.”

So who are these Great.com people anyway?  That’s a pretty memorable name for a website, right?  But what has it got to do with online gambling? Let’s take a look at their mission statement:

“Our mission is to redefine the online gambling industry while supporting global climate change initiatives using effective altruism”

In other words, their aim is to make money out of running high quality casino review sites in various international markets and donate 100% of the proceeds to environmental charities.  They are based in Sweden and currently they review casinos there and in New Jersey (one of the first US states to legalise online gambling).  Like us, they only review sites that are 100% legit; in the UK, this means regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.  Sweden and New Jersey have their own regulatory bodies that licence online casinos for their residents. So although we’re in the same business, we’re not in direct competition with each other, at least not yet!

Reviewing casinos is only a very small part of what they do at Great.com though; Erik Bergman, who founded Great.com after becoming a multi-millionaire before the age of 30, is also an inspirational speaker with more than a quarter of a million followers on Twitter and Instagram.  He features in the “Becoming Great” series of podcasts which cover topics such as “How to stop overthinking and procrastinating” as well as documenting Great.com’s journey to becoming “the world’s most innovative and controversial charitable organization”.

Podcast host Emil Ekvardt (another fascinating character who made more than a million dollars as a professional poker player before joining Great.com) has also conducted a series of more than 200 interviews with advocates for good – comprising people and organisations from many different countries working for good causes – which are available either as podcasts or as video interviews on their YouTube channel.  As well as climate change mitigation, conservation and sustainability, the good causes include medical charities, human rights advocates and many others.

A huge, bold initiative then, and one which is completely and refreshingly at odds with the negative way the iGaming industry is currently perceived in the mainstream media.  Good for the planet, and good for the industry, what’s not to like!
