VirginBet is a sportsbook and casino with more than 600 slot games to choose from. To claim the welcome offer, you’ll need to play through your deposit.
The UK facing version of VirginBet has been around since 2019 as an app and website, and was launched as a joint enterprise between Gamesys and sports betting supplier SBTech. Although both bear the Virgin branding, VirginBet is not to be confused with the Gamesys site Virgin Games which has a different licence and no sportsbook.
At VirginBet, the sportsbook is run by LiveScore Group with the Virgin branding used under licence from Virgin Enterprises Limited, and only the casino part of the site is run by Gamesys. Essentially, it’s an excellent sportsbook with a casino and live casino attached, but the number and variety of games on offer make the casino an attractive proposition even if you’re not interested in the sportsbook. If you ARE interested in the sportsbook, it’s even more attractive as there are promotions that combine both products.
Registration at VirginBet is a simple three step process. They’ve also taken the trouble to remind players that they should register with the first and last name shown on their official ID. This may sound trivial but it isn’t; for example, if everyone calls you Ben but your ID shows Benjamin, you need to register as Benjamin, and if you’ve changed your surname on your passport and bank accounts following marriage but use your original surname for professional purposes, you need to register with the surname on your official ID. This is for ID and age verification purposes.
In the casino part of the VirginBet site, there’s hundreds of slot games, and quite a bit of game categorisation to help you find something you’d enjoy playing (and of course you can also use the search box to find games by name).
The casino area also has tabs for (non live dealer) roulette (including novelty versions such as Immortal Romance Roulette and Space Invaders Roulette) and blackjack. In both cases there’s a Secrets of the Phoenix themed version.
Rounding the selection off are a few scratchcards and virtual sports including golf and darts as well as the more usual horses, greyhounds, cars and football.
The live casino has its own lobby which can be accessed from a tab in the casino lobby as well as from the main menu. There’s live dealer roulette, blackjack (including exclusive tables), baccarat, video poker and game shows by Evolution, plus first person (no dealer) versions of some of the games, Real Roulette (which is actually video of a live dealer spliced into RNG roulette) and a few classic casino games.
There’s a free daily game at VirginBet called Search for the Phoenix (which you may have come across before at Gamesys sites). It can be found in the casino area and can be played by anyone who’s made at least one deposit and been age verified. The game runs on a weekly cycle; each day, you reveal 6 tiles on the grid and the aim is to collect sets of matching symbols over the week to win free spins on the Secrets of the Phoenix slot game (which was originally a Virgin exclusive).
The promotions page at VirginBet is packed with offers, many awarding play with free bets or free spins. There’s also prize draws, tournaments and price guarantees on sports bets and it looks like there’s always plenty going on.
There’s a VirginBet app for Apple and Android, with fingerprint recognition, but we understand it to be for the sportsbook only.
Payment methods are fairly restricted; although they accept PayPal, it’s not available on first deposits so to start with, you’re going to need to use a debit card.
If you’re looking for an online casino and sportsbook combo and like your free spins to come without wagering requirements, VirginBet with its excellent range of games and promotions could be just the thing.

The “Bet responsibly” document appears in a pop-up and is linked from the main menu as well as from the site footer. It explains the safer gambling tools – deposit limits, reality check, cool-off and self exclusion – and also how to close your account. There’s direct links to all these tools (plus Gamstop) and also to your transaction history and betting history. The document also has advice on how to “Know Your Limits”, a self assessment questionnaire and links to various sources of outside help and advice with an explanation of what you might expect from each.
LiveScore Betting and Gaming (Gibraltar) Limited, who run the sportsbook, have Advanced Level 3 Safer Gambling Standard accreditation.
