What is Danger High Voltage 2?
This highly anticipated sequel to Big Time Gaming’s popular disco-themed slot game was released in November 2024. With a colourful and deliberately OTT makeover, it’s a fresh take on the original Danger High Voltage slot game.
Seven years on from the release of the original, Big Time Gaming have made a reboot that takes things to the next level. With upgraded visuals, thousands more paylines (thanks to Megaways) and two Bonus Rounds to choose from, it’s almost a completely new game! Let’s find out more about Danger High Voltage 2 in our quick review.
How to Play Danger High Voltage 2
Inspired by the classic tongue-in-cheek Electric Six song of the same name, Danger High Voltage 2 reuses many of the symbols from the original game. These symbols are inspired by the song’s zany lyrics (‘Fire in the disco / Fire in the Taco Bell / Fire in the disco / Fire in the gates of hell’), so you’ll see a mix of bejewelled skulls, tacos and other sparkling symbols across the reels. The visuals are noticeably crisper and more detailed than in the first iteration of the game, and the effects are more impressive too.
Gameplay is actually straightforward, even if the screen looks pretty busy. The base game has the classic Megaways layout – six reels of 2-7 symbols where you can match combos as you would with any slot. Thanks to this eternally popular game mechanic there are up to a whopping 117,649 ways to win, with a top potential prize of 52,980x your stake up for grabs. With a minimum spin value of 20p, both casual and high-budget players will find this an attractive choice of slot game.
In the base game there’s the Reaction Feature (aka tumbling reels, avalanche etc) which kicks in after a winning spin, exploding the winning symbols and causing new symbols to drop in potentially creating further winning combos.
Danger High Voltage 2 doesn’t have the horizontal reel that you’d often find sitting above reels 2-5 in a Megaways game. Instead, there’s the Coin Dozer feature which was first seen in Bonanza Falls. Inspired by classic coin pusher arcade games, the Megadozer can be triggered on any spin, dropping BTG coins on to the reels that give you bonuses including Multipliers, Scatters, Wilds and Multiplier Wilds.

Scatters in particular are a handy feature, appearing randomly across the reels. Get three and you’ll trigger the two choices of Bonus Free Spins Rounds…
Bonus Rounds
Danger High Voltage 2 has two bonus rounds and you can choose which one you’d like to play. Contrary to what you might have heard, there’s no option for UK players to buy the bonus round so you have to wait for the elusive three or more scatters first.
Fire in the Disco!
This option gives you 6 Free Spins to play, during which the Bonus Coins that drop from the Megadozer either turn into Wilds that are sticky for the next two wins, or award an additional Free Spin. On top of this, if you get two or more Scatters on the reels during this Bonus Round, you’ll be awarded with even more Free Spins, so theoretically you could keep playing with Free Spins for some time! Scatters appear on reels 1 and 6 only.
Danger Danger!!
Choose this Bonus Round and you’ll get 12 Free Spins to play with. This time, the coins either increment the Feature Wild Multipliers by 1 or turn into a wild with the current feature multiplier. You can also enjoy extra Free Spins from 3 or more Scatters, which this time can appear on any reel.

Volatility & Return to Player
Big Time Gaming are known for creating slot games with high volatility, which means there’s the potential for some significant spread-out wins. Like most slot games these days, Danger High Voltage 2 has a variable Return To Player which is set by the operator and can be checked in the game help files (the small “i” icon that’s visible in the screenshots). We spot checked a few UK online casinos and found RTPs varying from 96.66% at bet365 to 94.46% at a Jumpman Gaming site.
All in all, we find the music and optics of this slot very appealing, despite the slightly chaotic feel. Danger High Voltage 2 has clearly had time and thought put into it, so it’s not your standard cash-grab sequel. If you’re a fan of both the original and of Megaways you’ll definitely like it.
