Who Are White Hat Gaming?
White Hat Gaming Limited provide hosting services for operators as well as a full white label solution gaming platform. Back in 2014 they only had a couple of house owned brands and these were not even available to UK players as they were licensed in Curacao and not on the “UK whitelist”. White Hat Gaming applied for a UK licence to be ready for when regulation was brought back onshore in autumn 2014 and were one of the first operators to obtain a full UK licence (originally in the name of Caddell Limited NV and now in the name of White Hat Gaming Limited). They now also have a Maltese licence allowing them to operate in any EU country that does not have country specific regulation and from 1st January 2019, a brand new Swedish licence.
After a period of rapid growth, there are now more than 20 White Hat Gaming casinos and the platform is clearly popular with operators as some of them have opened multiple casinos on the White Hat platform.
White Hat Gaming Casinos – What they Do Well
- A huge selection of 1000+ games from more than 50 providers including tiny concerns like Bla Bla Bla and MetaGU, new wave providers like Elk Studios and Big Time Gaming and giants like NetEnt and Microgaming who supply more than 200 games each.
- Big welcome bonuses – while not as big as they once were, these are still pretty generous. The total amount that can be claimed from a typical White Hat casino in bonuses can amount to several hundred pounds.
- Slot spin offers – many White Hat Gaming casinos give out a substantial number of bonus spins with their welcome offer.
- Live Casino – with games from Evolution, Pragmatic Play and Authentic Gaming
- Return to Player – in the case of slot games with a variable RTP that is set by the operator, White Hat usually set the RTP at the upper end of the range. All of their game RTPs are listed in a document that is easily accessible from the lobby so there is no need to delve into the individual game help files to find them.
White Hat Gaming Casinos – What’s Not So Great
- The minimum deposit at many White Hat casinos is £20 not £10
- The wagering requirement sounds reasonable at 35x, but it is actually 35x (deposit+ bonus) which effectively doubles it.
- Not only are no bets larger than £5 allowed when playing with bonus, there’s quite a long list of excluded games. ALL progressive jackpots and many other popular titles such as Beautiful Bones, Extra Chilli, Reel Talent, and Gemix count at 0% towards wagering requirements while other games such as Dead or Alive and Bloodsuckers only count at 20% (presumably because of too high variance or too high RTP).
- Player funds segregation at White Hat Gaming casinos is at Not Protected level only. This means that player cash balances are kept in a separate account but are not protected in the case of insolvency. This may sound alarming but is standard practice in the industry, with many huge operators also having Not Protected status.
- Regular promotions are almost all based on deposit bonuses.
- They issue loyalty points which can redeemed for bonus but you’ll need to spend £5000 on slots to get a £5 bonus. There also used to be VIP schemes but if these still exist they are not being publicised (they were always invitation only).
- Some White Hat Gaming casinos have (or had) other types of promotion but these tend to be aimed at high rollers. The ongoing prize draw promotions at sites such as Spin Rider had very nice prizes including cars and holidays but the draws only took place if a sufficient number of players met the rather steep deposit/spend requirement during the promotional period. There’s now one annual prize draw across all of the sites in that particular group (it’s still very much aimed at high rollers).
