Volcano Bingo was originally launched back in 2017, on a now defunct Jumpman network called Wheel of Slots which was where Jumpman originally trialled the spin the wheel style of welcome offer. It’s come a long way since its origins.

For a start, it LOOKS completely different. The original logo and design which depicted an erupting volcano are long gone to be replaced by something much more stylised and much easier on the eye, especially for mobile phone players who don’t want a screen full of irrelevant clutter. The volcano concept hasn’t been dropped completely though – it’s been cleverly integrated into the new logo and welcome offer splash screen.

What’s under the hood has changed as well. The early version of Volcano Bingo had Jumpman’s own bingo software plus a limited selection of slot games, and the bingo rooms were never very busy, probably because of the welcome offer being slots focused (one thing which hasn’t changed!) Now, the bingo is bought in and the range of slot games is very much bigger and better.

Volcano Bingo calls itself “the web’s hottest bingo site” and boasts that it has “red hot bingo rooms” – but is this right? Well, it is and it isn’t. The Pragmatic Play bingo product (which has powered Volcano Bingo ever since the retirement of Jumpman’s proprietary bingo software back in 2020) is an industry leader. The rooms are easy to find in the lobby and are massively networked so there’s no issues with liquidity. There’s plenty of different types of bingo to choose from – 30 ball, 80 ball, 75 ball and 90 ball plus the specials Bingo Blast, Animingo and Diamond Dazzle – with regular jackpot games and seasonal specials.

BUT – and it is a big but that will be a deal breaker for many bingo players – there’s zero sense of community because none of the bingo rooms at Volcano Bingo (or indeed at any other Jumpman site) have the chat window enabled. Nor are there any bingo bonuses or free bingo tickets available. Essentially, the bingo is a sideshow (albeit with decent prize money) and it’s the slots that take centre stage.

Slots and Games at Volcano Bingo

The briefest of peeks into the slots lobby reveals another way in which Volcano Bingo has changed radically since launch – the number of different games providers that they work with. The range of games is so very much bigger and better than it was a few years ago and Jumpman are constantly adding new titles; they seem to have a knack for seeking out the most exciting new games so there’s always something fresh to try.

Having said this – the latest version of the Jumpman lobby is perhaps a bit too pared down, with some games only findable via the search box. Apart from the Jackpots area (which is mostly games by Eyecon) there’s just two lobby areas for slots – “Popular” and “Slots” and while both have themed carousels such as Megaways (for all the games with this wildly popular game mechanic), Drops and Wins (for all the games in Pragmatic Play’s long running promotion), Gone Fishing (for all fishing themed games) and Slingo (self explanatory), if you don’t spot anything you like in any of them there’s no way to browse through all of the games and all you can do is use the search box, which doesn’t come with any filters or game provider search.

Scratchcard and instant win games, for example, are really short changed; they have quite a few but they are not visible in the lobby and the search box is the only way to find them.
There’s also no information in the lobby beyond what is on the game tiles themselves – nothing about provider, game features, jackpot size or return to player – so if you want to find out more about a game you have to load it up and look in the game help files.

The Live part of the lobby is also disappointing, with only a few roulette and blackjack games in sight. Again, searching on game name reveals many other live casino games including game shows and live slots. There’s plenty of space in the lobby for these games so it seems odd not to give them any prominence.

Perhaps the most annoying thing about this new Jumpman lobby is the removal of “My Faves”; you used to be able to mark a game as a favourite in the lobby to make it easy to find again and now you can’t. Instead, your recently played games show up at the top of the lobby when logged in; it’s better than nothing but you have to open the game and do some real money spins to make it work.

If you’re playing on a mobile phone, of course, the simplicity of the lobby could well be a plus point for you.

Other Things To Consider

There are no bingo promotions at Volcano Bingo, but there’s plenty of slots promotions to keep the entertainment value coming, including prize draws run across the Jumpman network and leaderboards run in conjunction with games providers including Pragmatic Play and Games Global. Redeposit offers appear both on the promotions page and via whatever marketing channels you opt into when you sign up; all are based around various versions of the Mega Reel so you never know exactly what you’re going to get when you make a deposit (which may or may not be your idea of fun). There’s also a free daily game with prizes of slot spins.

Jumpman offer several different deposit methods including (very expensive) mobile phone billing; you can even register using your PayPal account credentials to save time getting started (you’ll probably have to send further identification later if you do this, as well as being prepared to make a deposit on the spot).

Customer support is a bit patchy. If you need help with something that’s not in the FAQ between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday you can fill in a web form to instigate live chat, but outside of those hours the only option is to send an email and wait up to 2 days for a reply.

Final Thoughts

Volcano Bingo is not going to be the best choice for a player that is passionate about bingo and likes to chat, but for someone that has a more casual approach to bingo and also likes to play slots on their phone it could be just the thing.
