Viking Bingo is a Jumpman Gaming bingo and slot site that has been in operation for many years. It’s owned and operated by Jumpman rather than being a white label site.
Yes, it has the word ‘bingo’ in its name, but don’t be fooled. As with the rest of the Jumpman Gaming sites, Viking Bingo is first and foremost a slots site, with only a minimal bingo component, thanks to replacement of the original proprietary bingo setup with the standard Pragmatic Play network of bingo rooms.
Viking Bingo is a little older than most Jumpman sites, so has been through more changes. Originally launched in 2015, it was one of a handful of Jumpman sites in the Wheel of Slots network. These sites featured cash-only bingo games and a spin-the-wheel welcome bonus offering either bingo tickets or slot spins (a format that was pretty radical in its time and would eventually evolve into the Mega Reel and Loot Chest.)
Three years after Viking Bingo was launched, Jumpman consolidated its networks into a single, mobile-friendly platform, and that meant a relaunch for the site, with a clearer Viking theme, upgraded graphics and integration with the Jumpman promotional and gaming network.
As with all the Jumpman sites, UK players are covered by Jumpman’s UK Gambling Commission licence, while the international version is available through an Alderney Gambling Control Commission registration. There’s also the familiar GoDaddy security certification displayed on the homepage, and a link to jumpmancares.co.uk, the brand’s dedicated responsible gambling initiative, which is one of the areas in which Jumpman outperforms many of its rivals.
Compared to some of Jumpman’s more generic efforts, Viking Bingo delivers a little more visual flair. The design includes a dynamic ocean background with gentle waves, and a bobbing Viking ship that moves when you click on it. On a large screen, this animation is quite charming, although we found it causes some slowdown on older devices.
Unfortunately, the theme is largely confined to that home page image. The rest of the site is functional but minimal. The user interface is basic, and navigation is largely restricted to a menu bar across the top of the home page providing three options: All Games, Promotions, and Trophies. The All Games heading does enable you to narrow down your search slightly, but not beyond being able to choose Slots, Casino,Live, Jackpots or Bingo. There’s no filtering system as such, so you can’t sort by developer, RTP or theme.
The sign up process is quick and easy. Click on the gold Join Now button to open a short three-step registration form. As with many other Jumpman sites, you have the option of registering more quickly through PayPal but bear in mind that this auto-triggers the first deposit process, which prevents you from checking out the site before you fund your new account.
Once you’re signed up and make your first deposit, you’ll unlock the welcome promotion, which is a spin of the Loot Chest. This is not substantially different to the Mega Reel mechanic seen in many other Jumpman sites, and the steep x65 wagering requirement is as unnatractive as ever, significantly reducing the real value of any winnings.
Despite the name, as we mentioned above, bingo is far from the main attraction here. The bingo product is simply the standard Pragmatic Play network offering, as is the case with all the Jumpman sites that still offer some bingo content.
There are well-established advantages to the use of the Pragmatic Play platform, not least the consistent liquidity and stable technology. Viking Bingo has a steady schedule of up to twelve bingo rooms, covering all the main types from 30-ball to 90-ball. The jackpots can reach five figures in some rooms, and there’s a few 1p and 2p games to provide a satisfactory range.
The mini-game provision is good, made up of eight big-name titles, including Sweet Bonanza and Wolf Gold. Other than that, however, there’s not a lot to get excited about. There are very few bingo-focused promotions, no exclusive or VIP rooms and most significantly, no chat rooms, so the social element is almost completely absent.
This is where the site excels, providing just short of 4,000 slots games in total, taken from most of the major developers, including Eyecon, NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Play’n GO. If you’re looking for classic slots like Starburst, Book of Dead and the Big Bass series, you’ll find them all here, along with a selection of newer titles. There’s also a nod towards the site theme with the presence of Vikings Go Berzerk and Thunderstruck II among others.
Things are a little less impressive in the jackpot section. There are only around 60 jackpot games available, with Fluffy Favourites being the most prominent title, so players looking for giant progressives like Mega Moolah or games on the WowPot networks will feel underwhelmed. The absence of any jackpot total counts on the game panels is also disappointing.
If you’re into traditional casino games or want to try out a few live options, it’s safe to say you won’t be blown away by what’s on offer. There are Casino and Live sections, offering around 50 games apiece, but all of the games are variants of blackjack or roulette. If you want something different, you’ll have to use the search bar to dig out the handful of poker, keno and other alternative games.
The promotions at Viking Bingo are the standard offers available across most of the Jumpman sites, such as Turbo Spins, Race to Riches and Fluffy Fridays. Overall, the promotions section is still relatively well stocked, compared to many rival sites, which don’t really offer much after the initial welcome bonus. But the x65 wagering requirement across all of the promotions undercuts that favourable impression, and significantly reduces the site’s attraction.
The trophy system brings a welcome element of gamification to the site, providing some incentive for players to explore the game catalogue, and while it isn’t the most innovative program around, it is a player-friendly addition.
Viking Bingo doesn’t offer an app for iOS or Android, although this isn’t really a disadvantage. The mobile version of the site runs well, and the minimalist design means there are no significant issues in switching to a smaller screen, with fast load times, smooth navigation and access to all of the site’s features, although as we mentioned above, older devices may show some slowdown on the home page due to the Viking ship animation.
As with many Jumpman sites, support is a clear weak spot here. There’s no live chat, no phone contact option and no listed support email. To get help, you’ll need to scroll to the bottom of the homepage and click on the Help link. This launches a fairly basic FAQ section and brings up the gold Support button, but this simply gives you access to a web form. Compared to many rival sites, the customer service provision is poor.
Viking Bingo has a distinctive brand and a great slots library, but not much else. The bingo component is no more than adequate, the bonuses come with punishing wagering requirements, and the platform does not really build on the potential of the brand beyond that home page animation.
If, like many online gamers, you’re primarily looking for a solid slots site with a large game library and good mobile compatibility, Viking Bingo ticks those boxes. Just don’t expect much in the way of customer service, bingo entertainment or traditional casino games. Like many Jumpman sites, it’s functional but ultimately forgettable.
Same as at every other Jumpman site. The advice, links and safer gambling tools meet Gambling Commission standards but there’s no extras. Self exclusion applies to every Jumpman site not just Viking Bingo.
I would stay well clear of this site. The payouts are terrible and the house wins for most of the time. I have complained to customer service and they say there is nothing wrong with it. You deposit 100 pounds and then you cannot deposit another 100 until you are below the first 100. It really makes for bad workmanship and I don’t think viking will be around for long when the payouts are so bad. Everyone knows that when you deposit you expect to lose some money, but here, you don’t stand a chance. keep clear there are lots of sites that value their customers.
