Meta Betting is a new UK facing independent casino and sportsbook, run by people who’ve been in the business for more than 30 years. An added extra is lotto betting on the UK 49s.
When I first heard the words Meta Betting I thought it must be something to do with Facebook, and I was kind of right, but not in the way I originally thought. It’s actually a venture by independent bookmakers Regency Betting Group who have been trading since 1992 – in their own words a “new name and a new way to bet, but operated by one of the country’s oldest independent bookmakers”.
The really intriguing thing about Meta Betting and Regency Betting Group is their “Bet Your Way” initiative which enables customers “to interact with our experienced operators and agents they way they want across various platforms”. Meta in the sense of higher level then, and they aren’t joking – they own lots of yet to be activated website domain names that are designed to promote Instagram betting, Tik Tok betting, Messenger betting and so on (some of which, of course, are Meta products in the other sense of the word). They already have a team of telephone and message sports betting operatives and they invite you to get in touch for a discussion if you want to bet on a sports market you can’t see on their website.
Their remote gambling licence was issued in 2023 and in November 2025 additional remote licences for bingo, casino and virtual events were granted. Although there’s no bingo or virtual sports on the Meta Betting website at the time of writing, they therefore have the option to add those products in the future if they want.
Start the registration by filling in your email address on the casino offer page. You’ll progress to a form where you fill in the rest of your personal information, choose a password and agree to the terms of use and privacy policy. After selecting the marketing channels you’d like to opt into, you will need to validate your email address and phone number. Most players will find their account is verified and ready to use within minutes but some may need to send in documents (I didn’t).
You’re now ready to deposit and play (after optionally setting deposit limits). Do bear in mind that in order to claim the welcome offer spins, your £25 has to be played on the correct game and to use the spins, you will need to have some cash left in your account.
The sportsbook at Meta Betting is a joy to use, with the most popular sports at the top so you don’t need to scroll down to find the markets you want. Horse racing and football have dedicated lobby areas and you can filter by region, so if you’re only interested in English football or UK and Ireland horse racing, you can zoom in on those. There’s lots of other sports to bet on too, but no esports (of course, you could always give them a ring about that).
The Inplay tab lets you place bets on a wide range of live events including motorsport and many different ball sports.
As well as a well stocked promotions page, there’s an area in the sportsbook lobby just for price boosts, and there’s also a free phone number you can call to get exclusive odds.
One thing that Meta Betting offers that you don’t often find outside of the big bookies is betting on the UK 49s. You can find it on the sportsbook page and in the Numbers area in the casino. Essentially, this is a type of lottery betting, the twist being although the 49s is a live lotto style draw that takes place twice every day, it’s not actually a lottery as it was created purely for the purpose of betting on it.
At the time of writing Meta Betting has games from half a dozen or so providers – Big Time Gaming, Evolution, Light & Wonder, Netent, Nolimit City, Pragmatic Play and Red Tiger. It’s not the biggest range of games in the world but there are some absolute classics in there – Bonanza, Starburst, Sweet Bonanza, Wolf Gold, Gonzo’s Quest and Rainbow Riches to name but a few. All of these games have sequels and you can play those here too; for example, as well as Gonzo’s Quest there’s Gonzo’s Quest II, Gonzo’s Quest Megaways, Gonzo’s Gold and Gonzita’s Quest.
It’s easy to find games to play by browsing through the many lobby sections in the Casino part of the site. What’s New and Top 10 Games This Week are obvious places to start, and it’s nice to see game mechanics like Cluster Pays and Scatter Pays given their own areas alongside Megaways.
Jackpots have their own section with around 90 games, but they aren’t the large progressives you were maybe hoping for, just games with smaller (but still worthwhile) fixed jackpots.
There’s a drop down filter for game providers, but be aware that it only filters the games in the lobby area you’re looking at. For example, if you choose Netent and you’re in the Top 10 Games This Week section, you’ll only see Starburst; to see all the Netent games you need to be in the Slots area.
You can also use the search box to find games. It’s fast, but it only shows results that are an exact match so you need to be careful not to mistype or misspell the name of the game you want.
Several lobby areas showcase non slot games – Arcade, Table & Card, Crash, First Person (this last is for non live dealer versions of Evolution classics like Mega Ball) – and there’s an extensive Live Casino lobby with roulette, blackjack, baccarat, Asian games, dice, poker and game shows by Evolution and Pragmatic Play.
First, the bad news: the range of deposit methods you can use here is extremely restricted, with no e-wallet or prepaid voucher options available. If you don’t want to use a debit card or bank transfer to fund your account, this isn’t the site for you.
Now for the good news; they have casino promotions as well as sports promotions. You can find them on the promotions page (which is part of the sportsbook navigation) and you can also see them as rotating banners in the casino lobby.
The support arrangements are unusual as there’s no live chat on the Contact Us page. Instead, you can email them or (quite the rarity these days) phone them. This means you need never get stuck talking to a chatbot and is quite the breath of fresh air.
Meta Betting has the backing of a well known independent bookmaker with bricks and mortar presence in the UK, and they offer a level or personalised customer service that you just won’t find elsewhere. If you’re looking for an independent sportsbook and casino combo, you’ll certainly want to check this one out.
