Free Spirit Bingo is a Jumpman powered bingo site which was originally launched many years ago with a rather insipid looking New Age theme. After changing hands, it’s been relaunched with a fresh new design and superior welcome offer.
Back in the 2010s, Jumpman Gaming sites came in three flavours. There was “15 Network” which was the original bingo network, “Jumpman Slots” which was the same slot games but no bingo and “Wheel of Slots”, this last being where Free Spirit Bingo was originally launched. The USP of Wheel of Slots was its spin the wheel style welcome offer which at the time was quite an exciting innovation; the original design of the site superimposed the Wheel on a dreamcatcher.
The bingo at Wheel of Slots ran on Jumpman’s proprietary software but as there were only a few of these sites, they weren’t networked with Jumpman’s other bingo sites on the “15 Network” and they didn’t really have any bingo promotions, the bingo rooms were always very quiet. In 2017 the three networks were merged into one and the bingo product was made mobile friendly, but because the welcome offers and other promotions were all about slot spins the bingo became more and more sidelined until 2020, when the proprietary Jumpman bingo software was retired to be replaced with the well respected Pragmatic Play bingo product that still powers Free Spirit Bingo today.
The bingo is not the only thing that’s improved. The new design is much easier on the eye; the rather mournful looking owl that was the Free Spirit Bingo mascot has been replaced with a much more cheerful looking version and the grey and mauve colour scheme has changed to a much more upbeat pink. The home page has also been rearranged a bit and one effect has been to make the bingo less prominent; to find it, you need to go to the All Games area and look in the Bingo tab.
Free Spirit Bingo’s new welcome offer underlines the shift of emphasis to slots. It’s a big improvement over the usual “win slot spins” offer; the slot spins alone are more than you’d probably get from the Mega Reel and because the bonus is a percentage of your deposit it gets bigger if you make a bigger deposit. And, of course, slot bonus can be used on a wide range of games which is much better than winning spins on a game you aren’t mad about!
The Pragmatic Play bingo lobby has been integrated with the main lobby so that information about how long it is until the next game starts and how mnay players there are in the room is pulled through to the game tile; you can also see a prize value but in some cases it is the value of the room jackpot rather than the prize pool for the current game. Once you start to play bingo you’ll see the Pragmatic Play lobby which has much more accurate information and sometimes includes extra rooms if Pragmatic are running a network promotion (they often are).
There’s rooms for 90 ball bingo (the Jackpot Room, Bingo Blast and Diamond Dazzle plus daily and weekly jackpots), 75 ball bingo (Country Roads), 80 ball bingo (Boombox), 30 ball bingo (Zoom Room) and 50 ball bingo (Animingo) so you certainly won’t run out of different types of bingo to entertain you, and there’s a small selection of minigames should you wish to have a spin on slots while you’re waiting for the game to start. There’s no chatroom, though – Jumpman chose not to enable it in the first place – so no real community.
The real draw at Free Spirit Bingo (and indeed at all Jumpman sites) is the slots. Again, the selection of these is very much improved from what the site had at its original launch. Basically, it’s a curated selection of the most exciting games from a number of different providers (and yes, this does mean there’s a lot of high variance titles on offer).
The lobby interface at Free Spirit Bingo is very simple with just a few tabs, and games grouped by theme or game mechanics. The upside of this is that it is super easy to use on mobile devices; the downside is that there is no information in the lobby about each game apart from its name and tile illustration, so if you want to find out the Return To Player, how volatile the game is, what bonus features it has and even who the game provider is, you have to load up the game first.
Slot games can be found in the “Popular” and “Slots” parts of the lobby. At the very top of Popular, logged in players see their recently played games. This part of the lobby also showcases new releases (which are added at least once a week and usually more often, so there’s always something fresh to try). You can also see games grouped by popularity (“UK Classics”), game mechanics (“Megaways”) and inclusion in current promotions (“Drops & Wins”). Head over to the Slots tab to see games grouped by themes such as “Gone Fishing” and “Tales of Egypt”. Jackpot slots, which are mainly by Eyecon, can also be seen here or in their own lobby tab.
Surprisingly there’s no way to browse through all of the slot games; there’s a link to “View Our Slots” but it just goes back to the Slots tab. So if you want to find a game that isn’t in any of the groupings (and there are lots of those) you’ll need to use the search box. This displays results for as few as two letters or numbers; you’ll see a list of 70 games with the closest matches at the top and looser matches lower down. For example, if you search on “extreme” you’ll also see games whose name includes “xtreme” and “xxxtreme” and lower down the list “supreme” and “extravaganza”. Unfortunately, there’s no way to filter search results or search on game provider.
The other lobby areas are “Casino” and “Live” and both have roulette and blackjack and nothing else. This is actually selling Free Spirit Bingo a bit short as there are many other non slot games available to play. To find them, head back to the Popular tab where you’ll find a grouping for Live Casino that includes some game shows and a grouping called Arcade that includes Plinko, Lucky Tap, minesweeper and crash games. You can find even more live casino games and instant win games via the search box (if you know what you’re looking for, of course).
Last but not least is Slingo; there’s a grouping of these games in the Slots part of the lobby and they are also very easy to find using search.
In the past Free Spirit Bingo promotions have largely been based around various versions of the Mega Wheel giving players the opportunity to win spins on a range of different slot games on any redeposit. Jumpman no longer advertise these offers to everyone but you may still receive personalised redeposit offers via email, SMS or whatever channel you opted into when you signed up, and they can also pop up in your Inbox on the site. The Offers page is where you’ll find the free Daily Wheel promotion plus various slots prize draws and leaderboards, usually run in partnership with games providers.
Free Spirit Bingo offers a good range of deposit methods including Paypal, Paysafe and pay by mobile (although the latter can be very expensive to use).
Customer service is a bit of a weak point. You contact them by filling in a web form which is not that easy to find (it’s in the FAQ) and apart from 9am – 4pm Monday – Friday when “live chat” is available, they aim to reply via email within two business days which is pretty slow, especially if there’s any back and forth as it can take them up to two business days to reply each time.
If you like to play on a mobile phone and enjoy slots plus a bit of bingo, Free Spirit Bingo could be just the thing, especially as it’s got the full range of games including live casino coupled with one of the best welcome offers you’ll find at a Jumpman site (or indeed any other bingo and slots site).
