Bingo & Slots News - Autumn 2024

Updated: 18th Sep 2024
Now that everyone’s back from summer holidays, UK bingo and slot sites are ramping up their promotions. The biggest promotions won’t appear until Halloween and the run up to Christmas, but there’s plenty to be going on with!
Bingo Specials
Playtech are once again running an escalator jackpot promotion, in a different bingo room every Friday in September. The promotion follows a tried and tested format; starting from 6pm the number of calls within which bingo must be won for the room progressive jackpot to drop is incremented every half hour. If the jackpot hasn’t dropped by 11:45pm, it drops in the next game. The jackpot is split 50/50 between the full house winner or winners and all of the tickets in the game where it drops.
The jackpots are a minimum £20,000 apart from on the last Friday of September (in the Fluffy Favourites bingo room) when it is £50,000.
It’s unusual for Dragonfish bingo sites to run a seasonal promotion, but this time round they have one in the form of the Oktoberfest bingo room. This 75 ball bingo game plays on 30th September with a prize pool of £1000 and cards priced at 10p each. To access the room and buy cards, you’ll need to have cash in your account.
At Unibet Bingo and bingo.com until September 29th, there are random prize drops in every game throughout the day and evening in one of their 75 ball bingo rooms. Just before each game starts, a random player with tickets to the game is awarded a bingo voucher of value £1 – £50. Bingo vouchers have a 7 day expiry and a 1x wagering requirement and there’s £25,000 worth of them to be given away during the promotion. Players can also collect a free scratchcard once a week on login.
Standout Promotions
When we saw “Christmas Countdown” advertised at Paddy Power Bingo we thought there must be some mistake! But no, this really is a very early Christmas promotion, running until 19th September. It’s a prize draw with 100 x £50 gift vouchers to be won and players can collect an entry every time they play £2 on bingo.
Bingo Sites News
Some Dragonfish bingo sites have had a lobby redesign, but you won’t notice much difference if you play on a mobile phone. On a larger screen, usability has been improved; the lobby tabs have been moved from the left hand side to the top of the screen and Offers and Rewards have been given a more prominent position. The result is that it is much easier to find things. This update has only been done on Dragonfish bingo sites that are owned as well as operated by Broadway Gaming – the remaining white label sites still have the clunky old lobby.
Another rather more unwelcome change has taken place in all Dragonfish bingo rooms at all Dragonfish sites – they’ve got rid of the chat window completely! (Not that the chat at Dragonfish bingo sites was up to much).
Slot Games News
It’s been quite a while since the last new game in Playtech’s Age of the Gods series of progressive jackpot slots was released, so it’s good to see Age of the Gods Cash Collect make its appearance. The Cash Collect game mechanic is having a bit of a moment right now; Playtech have also brought out Cash Collect versions of several of their branded slots including The Walking Dead, Robocop and Gladiator (this last one, Gladiator Mega Cash Collect, is currently exclusive to Flutter brands including Paddy Power).
You won’t be all all surprised to hear that Pragmatic Play have released yet another game in the Big Bass series, Big Bass Vegas Double Down Deluxe. Like other Big Bass games it has variable Return To Player depending on where you play it; if it’s not shown in the lobby you can find out what it is by looking at the in-game help files. The top rate of RTP for this game is 96.5% but we expect this to be hard to find.
Another beloved game, Gemix by Play’nGo, also gets a sequel in the form of Gemix 100. This high volatility game is so named because it has a maximum multiplier of 100. Again, the RTP varies depending on where you play.
Slot games stake limits of £2 for under 25s and £5 for were meant to take effect this month but since the General Election it’s all gone very quiet on that front. The Department of Culture, Media and Sport announced these new regulations back in February but they are yet to receive parliamentary approval and there’s no indication of when that might be.
