Fate Of Dead Blitzways
What is Fate Of Dead Blitzways?
Fate of Dead Blitzways is a new title from Play’n GO that came out in October 2025, and that builds on the success of another Blitzways game, Legacy of Gems, released in January.
As you probably guessed from the name, this one belongs in the Book of Dead family, so there’s a lot of the standard Egyptian mythology and imagery, although it’s not a sequel to any of those titles, more of a reimagining of the Book of Dead formula but with a new game engine.
The game has a 5-reel setup, and there’s up to seven rows on each reel, as the game grid changes shape every spin, It’s also high volatility so it’s definitely one for those who enjoy high variance slot play. The default RTP is 96.2%, but you’ll find that at most UK casinos it’s set lower, so check the game help files before you start to play.
The backdrop of this slot game isn’t particularly original; just a standard ancient tomb, with hieroglyphs on the wall, golden pillars and a vague air of mystery. It’s clean and modern, and the animations are a bit smoother than other Book of Dead games, but Play’n GO haven’t pushed any boundaries with the visuals here.
How to Play Fate of Dead Blitzways
As we touched on above, the number of symbols on each reel changes every spin, and that means the number of ways to win also changes, up to a maximum of 16,807 when the grid hits maximum expansion. That’s essentially just the Megaways formula, but Blitzways takes it a stage further, as instead of fixed left-to-right paylines, there’s an adjacent-cluster mechanic that pays out when icons link horizontally or vertically over adjacent reels.
Winning clusters then disappear, and new icons drop down in a cascading effect that can lead to new wins and these cascades can turn into long chains of wins.
As for the symbols on the reels, there are the usual playing card values, alongside a variety of Egyptian gods and relics: Horus, Anubis, Cleopatra and the golden pharaoh mask. The Scarab is the Wild, and can act like any other regular symbol, and the Scatter, which here is a golden sarcophagus, triggers the main bonus feature.
The Blitzways Mechanic
Blitzways is the game’s main attraction. This mechanic is basically a mix of Megaways and Cluster Pays. Just like with Megaways games, the grid grows and shrinks. To win, you need a cluster of 4 or more adjacent symbols across three or more columns; each cluster scores for every way to win there is inside the cluster.

It makes gameplay a bit more unpredictable than basic slots. The cascading wins mean there’s a natural build of momentum and when you get one Blitzways cluster, there’s always a sense of anticipation that you might get another straight after. So instead of looking across paylines, you’re looking out for bunches of matched symbols. Throw in the Multiplier Wilds (we’ll cover those in the next section) and it feels like an interesting mix of a Megaways game and something more free form like Jammin’ Jars.
Multiplier Wilds
The Multiplier Wilds is the bonus you’ll hit the most often and it’s kind of elegant. As the cascades trigger, new Wilds pop up in the empty spaces left behind. If a Wild helps to land a win, it turns into a Multiplier Wild, and that boosts its multiplier value for the next cascade. This makes each spin feel volatile as the grid reshuffles and new Wilds pile up.
Free Spins and Sticky Wild Multipliers
The main bonus in Fate Of Dead Blitzways is the Free Spins round, which you get to by landing three or more Scatters in the course of one cascade. Every time a Scatter lands it turns on one of the three lights at the top left of the screen, and when they’re all lit, the free spins bonus starts.
You start off with eight free spins, and before the the first one, a random Wild symbol is added to the grid. Throughout the bonus, any new Wild that lands turns into a Sticky Wild, and it stays in the same place for the rest of the free spins play.
Each time a Wild helps land a win, it gets a multiplier boost, just like in the main game. These sticky multiplier Wilds are what make this bonus round stand out. And because the cascades are still active in the bonus, you can land a string of wins with the same boosted Wilds.
Extra Scatters landing in the bonus round also give you more free spins, usually one at a time. The goal here is to stack multiple Wilds early on and keep piling on the multipliers with regular wins. When this works, you can hit some big winning sequences, especially when the grid is expanded.
Fate of Dead Blitzways – Our Verdict
Fate of Dead Blitzways is a mix of the old and the new that works well. It stays visually loyal to the Play’n GO ‘Book’ universe but throws in the Blitzways mechanic, which is somewhere between Megaways’ changing reels and the cluster effects you get in a lot of modern slots.
The result is a game that feels familiar but plays different. The cascading wins and Wild multipliers give a real sense of momentum and instead of waiting for one expanding symbol to hit, you’re watching for a wave of chain reactions and hoping your Wilds stick and multiply.
That said, Fate of Dead Blitzways isn’t all new. The theme is pretty predictable: if you’ve seen one Egyptian tomb, you’ve seen them all, and it doesn’t really match the novelty of the play.
This is also a game that demands patience and risk tolerance. Dry spells can be long, and base-game wins are often small. If you’re a fan of Book of Dead and like chasing big rewards, you’ll probably like this reboot with its more energetic engine. If you were hoping for something a bit more ground-breaking though, you might want to look elsewhere.
Fate of Dead Blitzways – Where To Play
As mentioned earlier, Fate of Dead Blitzways has different RTP at different UK facing casinos. Jumpman Gaming sites for example have it set at a rather unappealing 91.2% and many others have it set at 94.2%. We were only able to find it at 96.2% at Slots Temple and bet365.
