Fat Banker is our June slot of the month thanks to max-jackpot snorter of up to 25,000x your stake as well as a raft of extra features. These include a multiplier collect system, random modifiers, Fortune Link streak re-spins and a free spins round with large wilds and multiplier upgrades.
Fat Banker is the latest game in the Fat series from Push Gaming joining the likes of Fat Drac, Fat Rabbit and Fat Santa. Clearly, rotundity is a recurrent theme here. The reels are framed in a silver art-deco frame which is set against a bendy Wall Street townscape.
The game looks fine, although the same can’t be said of the background music. Grating and crass, it doesn’t improve even when the various features kick-in. Thankfully, you’ll be asked if you’d like to ‘enable sounds’ when the game first loads up. We recommend you decline this kind offer to maintain your sanity.
How to Play Fat Banker
Unlike games from the ‘fat’ series, FB features a 6 x 6 layout instead of a standard 5 x 3 configuration. Medium to high value symbols include a top hat, a wad of cash, a dog and the Fat Banker’s wife who’ll pay 20x your stake for landing her six times on a pay-line.
Also in play are two wilds: a money bag wild and the titular fat banker character himself. The latter substitutes other symbols to help create winning combinations and will reward you with 40x your stake if he appears six times. The money bag wild also performs the same tasks but can also come with multipliers of 2x, 3x and 5x. It appears on all reels save for the sixth one in the base game.
Instant price Bullion Feature
Bullion symbols may also appear – during the base game they’ll only appear on the first five reels. These instant prize symbols serve as bet multipliers and have values of 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x or 100x your stake. They can also be collected and won when a silver safe symbol also lands on the sixth reel simultaneously – this is known as the Instant Prize Bullion feature.
Fortune Link Feature
This is triggered when the silver safe lands in designated hot spots on the sixth reel and at least one bullion symbol lands in any position. Two re-spins will be then be awarded – if you manage to trigger the feature with bullion multipliers, the values will be applied to your total win.
During the feature, each symbol spins to reveal a blank, multiplier or bullion symbol. If the latter two symbols appear, the re-spins are reset and the value of the bullion symbol is collected, becomes sticky and is multiplied by the multiplier symbols. The round ends when your re-spins are spent.
Red Car Feature
Red luxury cars may appear at random while playing the base game, revealing a Fat Banker, a Silver Safe, a Wild Money Bag and a Wild Money Bag with multiplier/bullion symbols.
Gold Car Feature
A gold car sometimes appears during the fortune link round, rewarding you with at least one bullion or multiplier symbol. The re-spins tally will be reset to two.
Free Spins Round
The free spins round is triggered when the fat banker wild lands on the first reel, as well as one or more wild money bag symbols in any position. You’ll then receive five free spins with the fat banker remaining active for the duration of the round. When a wild money bag appears, the fat banker will approach the symbol to collect it. This is added to a progress meter installed to the right of the game area.
Once you’ve filled the progress meter, the fat banker wild grows and awards more free spins. There are six levels – this is how it works.
- Collect 5 Money Bag Wilds to Increase Fat Banker to 2 x 2 and Collect 3 Free Spins
- Collect 4 Money Bag Wilds to Increase Fat Banker to 3 x 3 and Collect 3 Free Spins
- Collect 4 Money Bag Wilds to Increase Fat Banker to 4 x 4 and Collect 2 Free Spins
- Collect 3 Money Bag Wilds to Increase Fat Banker to 5 x 5 and Collect 2 Free Spins
- Collect 3 Money Bag Wilds to Increase Fat Banker to 6 x 6 and Collect 1 Free Spin
For your last free spin, the Gold car might appear and a wild money bag symbol(s) with or without a multiplier added to the reels.
Although similar in appearances to other games in the series, in particular Fat Drac, Fat Banker boasts more in-game features than its stable-mates. The larger game area means you can potentially land larger wilds – a maxed out screen of wilds would bring you a grand total of 2000x your stake. And that’s without factoring in the multipliers. Along with Fat Drac, this is the best of the series so far.
