Slots Magic is an online casino of more than 10 years’ standing based on the SkillOnNet platform. As the name suggests, it leans heavy on the slots, but also packs in table games, jackpots and live casino, with several thousand titles available.
Players who prefer to play at sites with an established reputation will be pleased to know that Slots Magic has been part of the group’s UKGC licence for quite a while now, running on SkillonNet’s UKGC license since 2014. SkillOnNet is responsible for some well known iGaming brands, including PlayOJO and Spin Genie but Slots Magic has not been as high profile, largely flying under the radar for the last decade or so.
Part of that relative obscurity may be down to the lack of notable branding or theme. There’s a vaguely magical look to the site logo, which features a bit of sparkle and some purple, but no clear or strong theme, mascot or fantasy tie-ins to build on the name.
In terms of regulation and compliance, the site has all the right credentials, and although it is showing its age in one or two areas, probably deserves to be more widely known.
The sign-up process is more or less the same as on the other SkillOnNet sites, so you’re through the basic form in under a minute. If you’ve already signed up to another SkillOnNet site, your details can carry across, so you can get set up even faster. As always, you don’t need to verify your account right away, but you will have to go through the verification process before making a first withdrawal, though usually, that’s just a case of uploading ID and proof of address.
The layout is quite simple and straightforward. Games are arranged in chunky panels across a white backdrop with a simple purple navigation bar on the right hand side, which offers some basic options including Games, Live Casino, Jackpot, Promotions and Help. It feels remarkably fresh and uncluttered for a site that was launched in 2014 and which has presumably been updated a few times since then.
There’s no false advertising here. This site is definitely all about the slots. There are more than 8000 games in total on the site and around 7000 of them are slots. We have seen one or two sites with more slot options, but not many, and Slots Magic definitely weighs in at the upper end of the slot count scale. You’ve got all the big suppliers here, including over 600 games apiece from Pragmatic Play and Games Global, along with several hundred from Playtech, Red Tiger, Play’n GO, Blueprint, Yggdrasil and others.
Getting around the slots library is so much easier than at many other newer sites. If you open the Games option, a new menu appears on the left of the screen, giving you the choice of Slots, Roulette, Live Casino, Live Shows and Card Games. Below that there is an array of filtering options that give you the option to narrow down your search by provider, volatility, features, theme, paylines, symbols, reels, and even minimum and maximum bet. There is also a search bar should you want to locate a specific game.
There are aspects of the navigation system that could be improved. Casino, dice games and jackpot titles are mixed in with the others in the themes filter section, which is a little confusing as there are also links to these elsewhere. The filter options are also not in alphabetical order which seems a curious oversight. In general, however, navigation at Slots Magic is extremely player friendly and something that many other newer sites could emulate.
Fans of Megaways games will find a big collection to titles, including all the usual suspects like Big Bass Bonanza Megaways, Gonzo’s Quest Megaways and Power of Thor, while Jackpot players can choose from most of the big linked progressive networks including Jackpot King, Age of the Gods, Mega Jackpots, Mega Moolah, and Dream Drop.
Live casino is well covered at Slots Magic. There are over 400 tables available, powered mostly by Evolution and Playtech and featuring dozens of versions of roulette, blackjack, baccarat, game shows and poker. Amongst the other gaming options you’ll also find a mix of scratchcards, Slingo, crash games like Spaceman and Aviator, and a few video poker titles tucked away in the depths of the catalogue. This site definitely covers all the casino bases.
Promotions at Slots Magic are generally competitive. There’s the standard welcome bonus that’s usually a form of deposit match plus bonus spins.. The site also offers daily picks, which take the form of rotating offers like free spins, reloads or tourney access, though you have to check in every day because they don’t always make it obvious what you’re eligible for.
There’s a Tournaments section as well, as the site is part of the SkillOnNet’s competition network, which features new promotions every day or two. Entry is sometimes free, sometimes costs £1 or a few spins to join, while prizes are usually bonus spins or small cash awards.
If you’re on mobile, Slots Magic works decently on a phone browser. They also offer native apps, which is kind of rare now. Both are accessible direct from the menu on the home page that links to the App Store and Google Play, which is another user-friendly touch. Most players will find the browser version runs fine with no slow load times, crashes or compatibility issues.
Customer support is where things could definitely be improved. When you click on Contact Us you get two options: an Email and a Live Chat facility, but you have to log in to use them, and the latter of these is only available between 06:00 and midnight. On the other hand, the FAQ area is one of the better help sections we’ve seen, being easy to use and comprehensive.
Slots Magic certainly delivers on the first half of its name. The slot catalogue is one of the biggest around, with all the top studios represented, and every flavour of game from Megaways and classics to progressive jackpots and the latest innovative slot titles. Live casino players are also well catered for, and navigating through the site is surprisingly user-friendly given its age.
There are a few small areas for improvement; customer support and responsible gambling are two areas where the site is starting to look its age.
Aside from those issues, however, this is a site that holds up remarkably well against newer competition, and a reminder that even some of the more obscure SkillonNet sites can provide an above average slots gaming experience.
At Best New Bingo Sites all of our reviews are completely honest and written by industry experts. We aim to present all our offers as transparently as possible with a full explanation of the terms and conditions. We receive commission from the sites we feature and this may affect how prominently they appear on our site and their position in our listings.
30x (deposit+bonus), 60x welcome offer spins winnings – on slots only.
The Responsible Gaming policy statement is not very well written or laid out. For example, “We pride ourselves of being fair, transparent and socially responsible and want to protect our players from playing irresponsibly and safeguard you, so you can have a playful, yet responsible gaming experience” reads like it has been translated badly from another language.
It does include the usual advice, links to outside sources of help and a brief explanation of deposit limits, reality check, cooling-off and self-exclusion.
Skill on Net also have a player monitoring tool called SafeMate which calculates risk scores for a player across all accounts they have at Skill on Net casinos.
