Unfortunately we can't bring you an offer for PlayUK at the moment. We're working to fix this, but in the meantime please visit our UK Slot Sites page for a full list of other great offers
PlayUK is a Grace Media (formerly Nektan) slot and casino site. It was upgraded to the latest version of the lobby in Autumn 2021.
PlayUK began life back in 2018 on the Nektan casino platform and was one of the first online casinos to trial the Pragmatic Play bingo product, but it looks very different today. This is because the Nektan platform was sold to Grace Media in 2020 and it has evolved significantly under its new ownership. When Grace Media rolled out a new lobby in the summer of 2021, operators needed to choose between two versions: a bingo focused version and a slots focused option, and the owners of Play UK chose the latter so the bingo rooms were removed.
The site operates in the UK under a UK Gambling Commission licence and holds certification from third-party auditing company eCogra, verifying that its games are fair.
PlayUK has a particularly impressive looking responsible gambling section. Clicking on the ‘safer gambling’ option at the foot of the home page takes you to a safer gaming hub, with multiple options such as Reality Check, Cooling Off and Self Exclusion getting their own section, links to partner gambling charities, and a large panel detailing tools to protect minors from gambling.
The sign-up process at PlayUK is a standard three-page form although it could be more streamlined as you have to first click on Join and then Sign Up. Once this is complete, however, you have full access to the site, and there’s no need to make an initial deposit.
There’s no particular theme here, just a pleasant dark-blue-on-white presentation, and the only concession to the brand name is a small club symbol at the heart of the ‘A’ in PlayUK.
The home page feels a little cramped, particularly when using the mobile browser, where the promotions panel takes up a big portion of the screen. Scrolling down is also distracting as the game menu replaces the main site menu, and this also means you have to scroll back up again to access the Rewards, Promotions or Support sections . Modern casino sites rarely offer downloadable apps, but PlayUK is one that would benefit from dedicated mobile upgrades.
Overall, the design seems to be based around the principle of simply putting as many game icons as possible in front of visitors, which feels a little disorientating. Whether this is deliberate or the result of a lack of attention to detail, the overall effect is unappealing.
In the lobby, you can choose from Hot Slots, Featured, Drops and Wins, Live Casino, Instant, Welcome Slots or All Games. Of these, the most useful link is the Welcome Slots option, which takes you to a section made up exclusively of games that the welcome bonus is valid on. This includes some of the big guns in slots gaming, such as Wolf Gold, Bonanza and Rainbow Riches, and its handy to have them all in one place.
Otherwise, finding the games you want can be a frustrating business. The games listed under each of these categories appear to be either completely at random or clustered loosely by provider, neither being particularly helpful. There is also no jackpot category, and no progressive jackpot slots that I could find.
There are over 1,500 games here, and we estimate around 1,000 slots although there’s no game count on the site, so its hard to be precise. We counted just under 50 game providers including big names like Evolution, Big Time Gaming, NetEnt, Microgaming (aka Games Global) and Pragmatic Play. You’ll find most of the popular slots here, including interesting titles such as Pragmatic Play’s Sticky Bees, and Finn and the Swirly Spin from NetEnt.
Table gaming fans have fewer choices. The live casino section, powered exclusively by Ekugi, has 36 titles, and is dominated by blackjack, although there are a handful of other games including roulette, baccarat, andar bahar, sic bo and casino hold’em. There is also a small Instant games section with 18 options, including Fluffy Favourites Lucky Tap. Essentially, however, this is a slots-focused site and other gaming genres are not well represented.
PlayUK seems to be consistent at offering a variety of promotions besides the main welcome deal. They include various bonus awards and free spins prizes, ranging from up to 150 free spins on slots games Cowboy Spins or Cowboys Gold over first five days after making an initial deposit, to regular weekly and monthly free spin awards for those who deposit a set amount. Wagering requirements for many of these offers are relatively low at x20 or x30.
There are seven payment methods here, including Google Pay (although not Apple Pay), MuchBetter and a range of Instant Banking options, and a low minimum withdrawal of £10, although the £1.50 fee for withdrawals under £30 is unwelcome, as is the three-day processing time. In 2025, there is little excuse for that length of time to elapse before payouts are cleared.
The customer support options are a little unusual. There’s the standard live chat facility accessed through the support section or the pop-up on the bottom right of the home page, and there’s a comprehensive FAQ area, along with an SMS text contact option. You can’t access customer support via telephone, which is not that unusual for a modern site, but the lack of an email contact option is more surprising.
The loss of the bingo element from the PlayUK product is also a shame, and there’s no sportsbook, lottery or scratchcard options either. Grace Media has clearly gone all in on the slots, which may make sense in the context of their overall business strategy, but it makes this particular casino platform less interesting than it might have been.
The switch to Grace Media has largely been good news for PlayUK slots players. There’s an impressive range of slots here, and the collection appears to be regularly updated, so you are likely to find many of the newest games. The array of free spins bonuses is also a positive for slots fans.
Unfortunately, there are some issues that prevent us from rating PlayUK in the upper ranks. Site navigation is limited, particularly when using a mobile browser, and finding the game you are looking for is a challenge, especially if it’s in the jackpot genre. The live casino section is small, there is little for table game or slingo fans to enjoy, and the payment system is a little quirky, with slower-than-average payouts and withdrawal fees.
PlayUK does the basics well for a slots site, but doesn’t have the broad appeal of the very best modern casino platforms, and its appeal will be limited as a result.
40x (deposit+bonus) on slots only. Only bonus play counts.
Play Responsibly Policy suppied by Grace Media. It’s split into sections to make it easier to read and digest, including a separate section explaining how to use each of the safer gambling tools. No extras though.
