Launched way back in 2009, Costa Bingo (themed on Spanish beaches and sunshine rather than anything to do with low cost) is the biggest, busiest and arguably the best of the “Ignite” group of bingo sites that used to be owned by Mandalay Media and are now under the direct control of Broadway Gaming, who bought the Dragonfish software and the rest of 888’s bingo business at the end of 2021.

Back in the Mandalay Media days (and especially during the period when ex Spice Girl Mel B was fronting the site), the promotions at Costa were some of the best in the business, including leaderboards, treasure hunts and prize bingo games. Everything was toned down after 888 brought the sites in house’ but they still retained some exclusive bingo rooms and player promotions.

Now that Broadway has taken over, the Ignite network has been fully merged with what was once called the Joy Of Bingo network meaning that there’s now very little difference between Costa and sites such as 888ladies. For many years Costa was the best of the bunch in terms of its welcome offer, but now the bingo bonus offer has been replaced with a slot bonus offer. This is no bad thing, as we shall see, and it also comes with a lower wagering requirement than you’d normally expect from a slot bonus.

Costa Bingo has a decent line-up of Dragonfish network bingo rooms, most with tickets priced at 5p each and open at various times of the day. As of July 2025 it includes:

  • Bingo Deal – a playing card based bingo game
  • On the House – free 90 ball bingo with small cash prizes, for players who have deposited in the last 14 days

Dragonfish also run seasonal specials from time to time.

It’s not possible to buy bingo tickets from the schedule at Dragonfish sites; you can only buy for the next game. The Express Buy option lets you buy tickets for the next game in several bingo rooms at a time without actually having to go into the bingo rooms, which does cut down on hassle but is not as helpful as a true advance purchase facility, especially as you have just 5 days to use your welcome bonus (and that’s why, at Dragonfish sites, a slot welcome bonus like the one at Costa can be preferable to a bingo welcome bonus).

The bingo rooms at Costa do have chat, but not 24/7, and it’s not particularly lively. Nevertheless, it helps with the sense of community.

Other Games at Costa Bingo

It’s not so much a case of “other games” at Costa Bingo as of just “slots”. Although there are some Slingo games and a handful of instant win games (mostly Lucky Tap), they don’t have lobby areas and you’ll need to use the search bar to find them. There’s a complete absence of any other sorts of casino games, so if you’re after roulette, blackjack or game shows you’re in the wrong place.

As selections of slot games go, it’s OK. There’s around 600 games, including the Slingo and instant win titles, from leading slot game providers such as Games Global (who own the Microgaming back catalogue), Eyecon (who supply all the jackpot slots), Blueprint and Pragmatic Play. Plenty, then, to satisfy the casual player but – and it is a big but which could be a deal breaker for some – Dragonfish are generally pretty slow at adding new releases. Bigger Bass Splash, for example, was released in February 2024 but didn’t arrive in the New Release lobby area at Costa until the summer.

With little game categorisation in the lobby and no filters, if you don’t see a game you want to play right away it’s a case of scrolling through the complete list or using the search bar. On the other hand the very simplicity of the lobby makes it really easy to use on a mobile phone. It’s also worth noting that although there’s not a lot of information on the game tiles, two really important things are shown. Jackpot slots have the current jackpot amount visible, and games that cannot be played with bonus are marked Real Money Only.

Other Things To Consider

The loyalty scheme is one of the best things about Costa Bingo! It’s shared across all sites directly operated by Broadway including Wink Bingo and many others. Shop coins are earned through real money play and via special promotions. They can be redeemed in the Costa Shop against slot spins, free bingo tickets, bonuses and even real cash, and because the scheme is networked it’s possible to collect coins at one site and redeem at another.

Broadway also run other promotions and you’ll usually find at least one waiting for you in the Offers part of the lobby when you log in.
