Take Control With BetBlocker Scheduler

Here at Best New Bingo Sites, we take safer gambling very seriously (you can read more about this on our Responsible Gambling page).

Cloak and calendar
bestnewbingosites.co.uk/responsible-gambling/" target="_blank" rel="follow">Responsible Gambling page).  We were excited to hear about the launch of BetBlocker‘s new safer gambling tool, Scheduler, which promises to be an absolute game changer.

What Is BetBlocker?

BetBlocker is a UK registered charity that is entirely funded via charitable donations.

The BetBlocker app is available for Windows, iOS and Android and stops your device from accessing gambling websites and apps.  It’s quick and easy to install (they say it takes just 2 minutes), is completely free to use on as many devices as you like and you don’t even need to register.  It also comes with a Parental Control tool which lets users password protect a list of sites they don’t want their children to be able to visit.

As of November 2025 the app has in excess of 250,000 active users all over the world and has been translated into many different languages thanks to people and organisations that have given their time free of charge.

Why Use BetBlocker?

For those who want to stop gambling entirely, BetBlocker is a fantastic tool to use in conjunction with Gamstop. This is because Gamstop only covers UK licensed casinos, whereas BetBlocker blocks more than 326,000 gambling websites and 1500 gambling apps worldwide; their database is updated weekly.  Once a user has applied the “gambling self-restriction”, they aren’t able to remove it.

What Is The BetBlocker Scheduler?

The new BetBlocker Calendar function is aimed at a completely different player base – those who would like to exercise some control over their play rather than stopping entirely. It’s available on all devices apart from iOS devices (i.e. iPhones and iPads) and since this is due to Apple’s restrictions on app development it’s unlikely to change.  You can use it on a Mac computer though.

The Scheduler is a tool that lets you block out days and/or time periods when you’d prefer not to be distracted by gambling sites and apps.  Here’s some of the possible use cases:

  • During working hours.
  • Late Friday evenings.
  • After midnight.
  • On payday.
  • During a holiday.
  • During a big match if you’re concerned about getting carried away with in play betting.

You can select up to three block windows a day and set them to repeat on a weekly timetable until the end date of your choice.

Duncan Garvie, the founder of BetBlocker, wrote on LinkedIn: “I’m really excited about the ways in which this feature gives control to our users, and allows them to ensure their block works for their needs”.

Why Use The BetBlocker Scheduler?

The Scheduler is a really powerful safer gambling tool that everyone can benefit from and everyone should consider installing.  While there are a few UK operators that offer this kind of scheduling as part of their suite of safer gambling tools, unless you only ever play at one site the BetBlocker Calendar is much more powerful as it essentially switches off all access to gambling during the blocked out times rather than just to a single account.

Truly a game changer!
