Buzz Bingo is one of the best bingo sites to play at if you like interesting promotions. They’ve done Slot of the Week, the Daily Spinner (or seasonally themed version thereof), any number of chat promotions, daily free bingo, various promotions in connection with Buzz Live (such as the nightly trivia game that ran earlier in the year) and now they’ve gone and done it again by adding slot tournaments!
Now, you may have come across “slot tournaments” at online bingo sites in the past and been disappointed to find that leaderboard points were awarded on spend, making them simply contests to see who could spend the most money (no fun in that!).
The Buzz Bingo slot tournaments are NOT like that – only a set number of spins (typically 200) on the chosen slot game count and each winning spin is scored as follows:
- Win to bet ratio x 100. For example, if you win 50p on a 10p spin, the win to bet ratio is 5 and you score 500 points. The maximum score you can get here is 25,000 points on a win to bet ratio of 250 or more.
- A points boost of 1000 if the win to bet ratio is 10 or more, or a points boost of 2500 if the win to bet ratio is 25 or more
- The spin value has no effect on the score
The tournaments run every hour, on the hour, every Wednesday between noon and midnight until further notice. You can sign up for them up to a week in advance or just show up and join, but the latest time you’ll be allowed to join in is 10 minutes before the end of the time slot (to ensure you have enough time to do all the spins). There’s a slight advantage to arriving punctually for the tournament, however, as if you happen to end up with the same number of points as another player, whoever scored them first takes precedence on the leaderboard.
Each tournament has its own prize pool, typically cash prizes for the top 3 on the leaderboard and free spins for 4th – 10th. This could change though, especially as there’s mention in the terms and conditions of tangible prizes. The cash prizes are currently fairly modest apart from in the 7pm “Power Hour” tournament where there is a pool of £500 cash and 210 free spins to be won. You’ll need to be logged into your Buzz Bingo account to see the details of which tournaments are running on which games at which times for what prizes.
Once you’ve joined a tournament, you’ll be able to see the leaderboard, the prize details and a countdown timer to start time. Once the tournament starts the leaderboard updates in real time and this includes information about how many spins you and other players have left as well as everyone’s current score. Enjoy!
