Merge, A New Free Daily Game At Tombola

Merge

Hot out of the oven this week at Tombola is the new free daily game Merge.  It replaces the bingo style game 4Free, which had been in operation for less than a year and like all Tombola free games it can be played twice a day, once at Tombola Bingo and once at Tombola Arcade.  To play, you need to have an account at Tombola and be opted in to SMS messaging (so they can send you a code to validate the game).

Merge is played on a 3×3 grid (which works a treat on small screens) and is based on a match 3 concept rather than a bingo concept.  It’s much more interactive than either its predecessor or Tombola’s previous match 3 game Trio.  Trio offered players a choice of several different themes (which arguably made the game over-complicated without making it more entertaining) but Merge has just one, a theme which is guaranteed to appeal to absolutely everyone.

So what’s this amazing theme? It’s BREAKFAST!Tombola Merge Yes, really!  All of the symbols that you can collect and merge are breakfast foods; there’s eggs, waffles, tomatoes, avocados and more.  Seven helpings of 3 symbols are placed on the grid; for each helping, you’ll need to drag any matching pairs of symbols together to merge them. The merged symbols then fly over to the left hand side of the screen to fill the meters next to the prize amounts.  Each prize corresponds to a different food and each meter needs three merges to fill.  To win the top prize of £5000, for instance, you’d need to merge three pairs of the tomato symbol in the course of the seven turns.  The other  prizes are £1000, £500, £50, £20, £10 and £2 and it’s possible to win more than one prize in the same game.

Merge is great fun to play and if you can’t be bothered to drag the symbols manually to merge them, you can always hit the Merge button to have it done automatically.

Merge has the same £40,000 weekly prize fund as earlier Tombola free games.  The weekly prize breakdown is 2 x £5000, 5 x £1000, 4 x £500, 60 x £50, 300 x £20, 600 x £10 and 4000 x £2.  By 5pm on day 1 no-one had yet won £5K but there was a £1K winner and a £500 winner and getting on for 500 winners of smaller prizes.

Lots of winners each week, then, and a fun concept that’s not like any other game currently on Tombola – that sounds like a recipe for success.  We expect Merge to be even more popular than its predecessors.  Enjoy!
