KnightSlots Review

4.4/5

KnightSlots is an online casino on the Skill on Net platform, with a library of more than 7000 games. It’s been around for a few years and is only just now being promoted to UK players.

KnightSlots

About KnightSlots

The site runs on the SkillOnNet UKGC license, part of a roster of sites run by this operator that includes the high profile PlayOJO and SpinGenie.  One of the newest brands from this operator, it was launched in July 2021, with a slots focus, and the usual SkillOnNet credentials. The RNGs in all of the games on the platform have been certified as fair by iTechLabs and the site’s safer gambling credentials include links to GamCare, GamStop, GambleAware and the National Gambling Helpline, although more work needs to be done in this area (see the Other Things To Consider section below).

The knight theme is alluded to with the use of a chivalric cross in the brand logo, but otherwise, there’s no effort to carry this through in promotions, gamification or other site features.

Getting Started at KnightSlots

As you’d expect for a modern casino site from an experienced operator, the sign-up process is smooth and streamlined, and you can get through the online forms within a minute or so, although you can sign up even faster if you have already created an account with another SkillOnNet site. You don’t have to go through the full KYC verification process at the time of sign up, but this will be required before you make your first withdrawal.

The site layout is fairly standard, with large game panels on a black background dominating the center of the page and a basic menu running along the top. This gives you access to Slots, Casino, Live Casino, Jackpot and Instant games, and the same menu is duplicated on the left-hand side of the home page, along with options such as Account, Cashier, Chat and Rewards.

One unusual quirk of the site is that the home page is much more informative when logged out than when logged in. Before logging in, it is easy to establish much of the information about the site’s credentials, promotions, terms and conditions and other important aspects, but once logged in, the UI is dominated by game panels and it’s a lot harder to navigate.

Slots at KnightSlots

The brand name promises slots, and slots it delivers. There are over 7,000 games on the site, provided by more than 75 software developers, and of these, around 6,500 are in the slots category, with the remainder made up of casino, live casino and other categories of game.

Navigating through this huge collection is a little frustrating until you find your way around. If you click on the Slots option on the home page, you are given a menu that is not particularly helpful, made up of categories such as Recommended, Trending, New and the baffling Popular Near You. The most useful category here is the Megaways option, which opens a library of 280 games.

Navigation becomes easier, however, once you find the search facility on the home page. This enables you to search by game title, but there is also a handy series of filters that you can use to narrow down the choice by game type, minimum and maximum bet, provider and game tag. This is a significant improvement on the standard search-bar only options at many sites.

The game catalogue itself features over 600 games apiece from Games Global and Pragmatic Play, more than 400 from Playtech and over 200 each for Play’n Go, Red Tiger, Blueprint and Yggdrasil. The jackpot section of the site is particularly impressive. Jackpot King, Eyecon Super and Mega Jackpots, Age of the Gods, Mega Fortune and Dream Drop are just a handful of the popular regular and progressive jackpot games in this area.

If you feel like a change from the slots, there are more than 400 live casino games, although as with the slots area of the site, the live casino menu is a little frustrating, featuring superfluous categories such as Exclusive, Recommended and Around The World. Regular casino gamers can enjoy a wide selection of roulette and blackjack games, and the comprehensive game library is completed by 60+ Slingo and Instant win titles, 20 crash games and a handful of video poker options.

Other Things To Consider

The presentation of the promotions section at KnightSlots is smooth and an improvement on the usual grid layout. The offers are presented one at a time, allowing you to consider each one before cycling on to the next.

Besides the welcome bonus, you will find Drop and Wins, personalised offers, missions, and other promotions. There’s an additional link to the Tournaments section. These appear to be run across the whole SkillOnNet network, some accessible for free, and others being unlocked by a small fee, often £1 or so. The prizes in these tournaments are usually bonus spins.

If you play on a mobile device, you’ll be able to play both through your mobile browser and dedicated downloadable apps, which is relatively unusual for a modern casino site. The iOS app appears to be slightly better than the Android option, as it holds a 4.2/5 rating on the Apple Store, whereas the rival is rated 3.5 on Google Play. From our research, however, it seems that the site runs equally smoothly on both OS and most mobile devices.

There’s some room for improvement on customer support at KnightSlots. To access the service, you can click on the Chat option on the left-hand menu or the pale blue button at the bottom right of the home screen. Both of these options open the chatbot facility, and you have no choice but to go through this method before you can access the live chat facility. There is an email contact option, but you can only access this by logging out and clicking on the Help button, which is frustrating and counterintuitive.

Finally, as we mentioned above, the responsible gambling section can also be improved. It includes plenty of links to support services, and mentions a number of support tools including deposit limits, self-exclusion and time outs that are available through the site but unfortunately, there are no easy links to access these tools. The responsible gambling section itself is also poorly presented, as slightly untidy walls of text. You’d expect a more user-friendly and accessible service more from a reputable operator like SkillOnNet.

Final Thoughts

KnightSlots certainly delivers on game choice. If you’re a fan of slots gaming, there isn’t anything to fault here. All of the big game developers are properly represented, there’s a huge jackpot slot section and casino and live casino players also have plenty to keep them interested.

That will be enough for many customers, but away from the huge game library, there are some issues. Site navigation could be improved for registered players, as it isn’t easy to find key information, and the customer support options are inadequate. If the same attention to detail was given to these issues, as to the game library, KnightSlots would be at the level of the top SkillOnNet sites such as the award-winning PlayOJO.
