Dragonbet is a rather wonderful independent sportsbook and casino site that’s aimed at a Welsh audience but welcomes players from other parts of the UK.

DragonBet bills itself as “The Bookmaker Of Wales” and the theming neatly incorporates a depiction of a Welsh dragon similar to the one on the Welsh flag. Founded by racecourse bookmaker James Lovell in 2022, the site is available in the Welsh language as well as in English and has a special Welsh Events area in the sportsbook plus an attached blog that largely focuses on Welsh League football and an app with live streaming; they are plainly really serious about supporting and promoting Welsh sport and it’s really great to see.

Having said that, there’s plenty of markets (advance and in play) available on sporting fixtures elsewhere in the UK and internationally so any sports fan should be very happy with what’s on offer. And of course, the same goes for the casino – it’s packed with games that are popular everywhere.

DragonBet is on the Playbook platform which powers just a handful of UK facing sites and represents a refreshing change from the big bookies and large skin networks.

Getting Started At DragonBet

As at other Playbook sites, the first thing you do in order to register an account is pick a password to go with your email address. On the next screen you give them your address and phone number and opt into whichever marketing channels you prefer. Games At DragonBet

Most of the slot games at DragonBet are from three extremely well known providers – Netent, Pragmatic Play and Blueprint – but there are some others as well including the recently added studio Leap. There aren’t any progressive jackpots, though. In the case of games with variable RTP(e.g. Starburst where the range is 92.05% to 96.09%), Playbook are known to set them towards the top end of the range; they don’t display RTP on the game tiles so you will need to verify that this is still the case by checking the game help files before starting to play.

We’ve already covered two big plus points – the existence of Apple and Android apps with live streaming of sports and the better than average return to player on some well known slot games – and one big minus point – the absence of any alternative payment methods, so if you don’t want to deposit with a debit card DragonBet is not the site for you.

The lack of wagering requirements will be another big plus point for many players, but the flipside of that is that there aren’t many promotions and they are not particularly generous.
