Just the other day at Mr Q, the Rock & Rollover jackpot was won – by a player who found the site via Best New Bingo Sites, turning a deposit of just £10 into £2887.
Rock & Rollover is a somewhat unusual bingo room. It is 75 ball, with a ticket price of £1, and there are NO regular prizes – only the room jackpot which is seeded at £1000. The game plays every day at 8pm and if no-one wins in the required number of calls, the jackpot (increased by an amount which depends on the ticket sales) rolls over to the following day.
Although the jackpot itself increases every day, the number of calls in which bingo has to be called doesn’t, so the chances of it dropping don’t increase over time. Mr Q have introduced variety by running the game on a different pattern each day with the number of calls required to win depending on the number of squares that have to be covered to complete the pattern. For example, here is tonight’s game:
The jackpot has already grown significantly from its seed value of £1000.
In this game, the pattern marked out in cyan is going to be played and to win the jackpot, the winning player must cover those 13 squares in 21 calls. The game in which the jackpot was actually won was a coverall and the winning player hit the target of 37 calls.
Mr Q say that the jackpot rolled over 188 times before someone finally won and while this sounds like a long wait, it isn’t really. In the many years that the Dragonfish million pound sliding jackpot games were live and running three times a week, no-one ever actually won the million pounds and to do so, they would have needed to complete the coverall in 40 calls – three more than the very lucky Mr Q player managed it in.
We’ll be watching with interest to see how many times the jackpot rolls over and what size it grows to before being won for a second time!
