Luckster

Luckster is from the same stable as the successful and popular Mr Play and apart from the Irish luck theming it has much the same design (why fix something that works?).  That design has now had a 2023 upgrade that streamlines the lobby for ease of use on all devices. The site is now split into just two areas, Casino and Sport.

First, a quick peek at the sportsbook. It majors on British and European football and minors on other ball sports including basketball and tennis, with a few other sports included (lots of motorsport including more than 100 outrights on Formula 1, a bit of MMA, a bit of esports).  There’s also in-play betting, a separate area for horse racing and an event slider filter which lets you look at today’s events only if you want.  Odds default to decimal but can be reset to fractional if that’s what you prefer.

Back to the casino. This part of the website now has just four sections – New, Slots, Jackpots and All Games.  But wait, I hear you say, what’s happened to the Live Casino area?  They do definitely have some live casino; it’s powered by Evolution and includes game shows – Dream Catcher, Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt, Mega Ball and so on – as well as plenty of choice of roulette and blackjack. But it no longer has its own section on the home page so you need to use the search box in order to see these games without a login.

You also need to use the search box if you want to locate any of the scratchcards that used to be Aspire’s party piece, or any of the Slingo games.

In fact let’s face it, you’re going to need to use the search box if you want to find anything other than new releases or progressive jackpots (not that there’s many of those, just a few Jackpot King titles and a handful of other jackpot games including Divine Fortune, Mercy of the Gods and Downton Abbey). Luckily the search box itself has been upgraded along with the lobby and you can now search on game providers as well as game names.  It starts showing results after you’ve typed in just one character; for example, search for “x” and you’ll see a list of more than 100 games which have X somewhere in their name.

The lack of clutter makes it really easy to use Luckster on a phone screen but conversely, some players using larger screens may be annoyed by the lack of game categorisation in the lobby.

Promotions at Luckster are run by the Aspire network and apart from the Pragmatic Drops & Wins Slots promotion which they have been running for years, they tend to be sporadic and run in conjunction with games providers rather than independently.

All in all Luckster is a nicely designed site that will appeal to anyone looking for a fuss free casino and sportsbook combo to run on their phone.
