Buffalo Spins is a Jumpman site which is themed on Playtech’s classic slot Buffalo Blitz, but the spins you can win in the welcome offer are for a different slot entirely.
Like its Jumpman Gaming sister sites, Buffalo Spins is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission for UK players and by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission for players elsewhere in the world. As with most of the other Jumpman sites, Buffalo Spins displays both regulators’ logos, along with a certification of SSL encryption certified by GoDaddy and
links to safer gambling organisations and to Jumpman Cares, the operator’s dedicated safer gambling site (a reminder that this is one area in which Jumpman Gaming outperforms some of its rivals).
The standout feature here is the name. As far as we’re aware, this is the first Jumpman Gaming casino to build its identity around a specific slot title, in this case, Buffalo Blitz by Playtech.
That may be why Jumpman Gaming has put a little more effort than usual into the presentation. The homepage depicts animated buffalos charging across a red-orange desert backdrop, which makes for a visually engaging first impression. However, as is often the case with Jumpman designs, the theming doesn’t extend far beyond the homepage.
Fast registration is something that most Jumpman sites have in common, and it’s the same with Buffalo Spins: just three short pages to complete. You also have the option of signing up more quickly through PayPal, although you’ll have to make a deposit on the spot if you sign up this way.
The home page and lobbies are uncluttered, which is welcome, but as with many Jumpman sites, the navigation tools are limited. The homepage offers you links to Trophies, Promotions, and All Games. Clicking on the last of these will give the options of Slots, Casino, Live, Jackpots, and Bingo, but that’s it. This simplicity may have its merits, but for many players, it will feel extremely basic compared to sites that offer a variety of filter tools and information.
Being unable to filter by provider, RTP, volatility, or feature means that you have to spend a lot of time using the search bar, unless you’re looking for a game that is in one of the broad category sections such as Gone Fishing or Cosmic Adventure, and this can be a frustrating experience.
Buffalo Spins features the Pragmatic Play-powered bingo suite, used across the Jumpman portfolio, which offers a solid if unspectacular experience. You can access this via the Bingo tab, which opens up a collection of around a dozen rooms, including 30-ball, 75-ball, 80-ball, and 90-ball bingo. The room panels display key info such as the current jackpot and number of players, which is a user-friendly feature Jumpman should introduce to their slots section.
When we explored the bingo options, we found that active player numbers were good, and there were a couple of five-figure jackpots available, along with penny bingo options.
Overall, however, the bingo offering is pretty basic. Pragmatic Play ensures stable performance and fair odds, but there are few of the additional touches that make a great bingo platform. We saw no evidence of free games, or bingo-themed promotions and most significantly, there is no chat function, which means none of the community spirit a lot of players look for. As a result, the bingo tab feels more like a side feature than a standout attraction, and is unlikely to appeal to serious bingo players.
Slots are very much the main focus at Buffalo Spins, and there’s a good number of games, numbering around 2000 in total. This includes titles from most of the major developers, including as NetEnt, Microgaming, Eyecon, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint, Red Tiger, Pragmatic Play, as well as the more recent addition of games from Playtech and its subsidiary Quickspin.
Standout titles like Starburst, Book of Dead, Eye of Horus, and Immortal Romance are all present, alongside a regularly updated library of new releases. There are also categories for Fishing games, which offers 22 Big Bass Bonanza titles, Cosmic Adventure, Tales of Egypt and a Fluffy and Friends section featuring 14 different Fluffy Favourites variants.
There is a Jackpot section, but it’s not particularly deep. The majority of the progressive games here are from Eyecon, which is fine for Fluffy fans, but you won’t find industry-leading titles like Mega Moolah, Jackpot King, or Divine Fortune here.
There are options for table game fans or those looking for something different to the standard slot gaming experience, but they are strictly limited and not always easy to find. The Casino section offers 50 or so games, and there’s a similar number under the Live tab, but the only games listed in these two area are variants of blackjack and roulette.
Using the search function, we found a handful of keno varieties, sic bo, poker, scratchcards and crash games, but they aren’t available through the site lobbies, which is either an oversight or for some reason Jumpman really doesn’t want anyone to play them.
Overall, the slots offering is strong, but the lack of filters, preview info, or demo play options, along with the inadquqate search and navigation system combine to create an often frustrating experience.
Besides the welcome bonus there’s the familiar range of standard Jumpman promotions, including offers like Turbo Reel, Fluffy Fridays, Daily Spins Reel, and Monthly Free Spins competitions. The variety and range is good, but let down by the wagering requirement of x65, which is right at the upper limit of industry standards, and even if you complete it you may not be able to cash out all of your winnings due to the max conversion clause.
The site also includes a Trophies section, which gamifies your activity on the site. Players complete tasks ranging from the simple to the obscure or difficult and for every five trophies collected, you level up and earn a spin on an upgraded version of the Mega Reel, which could land you bigger prizes, as long as you have made a deposit during the preceding 48 hours.
Mobile compatibility is decent but not remarkable. There are no dedicated apps for iOS or Android, but the browser-based version works well on both smartphones and tablets, and the ability to use PayByMobile for deposits is welcome (albeit expensive). That said, the design doesn’t translate that well on smaller screens, particularly with older devices.
Customer support is one of the weakest areas of this site. There’s no live chat or telephone number, just a basic support form accessible via a small link at the bottom of the page. Responses are typically via email and may take up to 48 hours, which is disappointing in an era where real-time help on a 24/7 basis has pretty much become standard. The FAQ section doesn’t really pick up the slack, either, and is unlikely to resolve any non-straighforward issues.
Buffalo Spins delivers what a lot of casino fans are looking for: a good selection of slots, a gamified experience, with a range of promotions and a sprinkling of bingo and slingo games to keep things diverse. The themed design and Playtech affiliation also help it to stand out slightly from the ranger of generic Jumpman games.
However, as with many of its sister sites, Buffalo Spins has minus points. Navigation is clunky, there are no filtering tools, the bingo experience is minimalist, and the wagering requirements for all of the bonuses are eye-watering. Customer support is also subpar, and the lack of serious jackpot titles may also put off some players.
In short, Buffalo Spins is a solid but familiar outing from Jumpman, with just enough flair to distinguish it from the crowd. If you’re already a fan of the network, you’ll enjoy what’s on offer, but there are plenty of more user-friendly sites available out there for everyone else.
65 x bonus on slots only, excluding progressive jackpots. Only bonus play counts.
The Responsible Gaming page is the same one you’ll find at all Jumpman sites. It covers the basics but there’s no extras.
