Winter Spotlight at Tombola

Updated: 16th Dec 2021
Winter Spotlight is a new single ticket, multi stake bingo game at Tombola, and something of a new departure in that it is a seasonally themed game that is only going to be around for a limited period of about 6 weeks. It’s also one of Tombola’s best games yet- to find out why, read on!
Visually, the game is based around a 15 piece jigsaw of a snowy day in the mountains. Each piece has a number in the range 1 to 45. To buy into a game, choose your stake level (available levels are 10p, 25p, 50p, £1 and £2) and press confirm to receive your jigsaw. Once the game starts, the ball calls appear as jigsaw pieces scrolling past at the bottom of the screen and any that match your numbers can be placed on your jigsaw. If the number doesn’t match, the jigsaw piece will be the wrong shape for that part of the picture (such is Tombola’s attention to detail).
The wintry scene starts off in shades of grey with not much going on but as you add jigsaw pieces you also add colour, animation and sound effects; the cable car starts running, the flags flutter in the breeze and a skier comes down the mountain. You can move the pieces manually or let them be placed automatically.
The KILLER feature of Winter Spotlight is that once you’ve added a piece to the jigsaw you can interact with that part of the scene. Make the trees and mountains shake, brush the snow off the roof of the house, play a tune on the signposts or fell the large tree to make the skier crash (as I’ve done in the screenshots)! If the chat in the bingo room is anything to go by players absolutely LOVE this aspect of the game.
Winter Spotlight has two prizes in each game, Corners for placing all four corner pieces of the jigsaw and Full House for completing the jigsaw. There’s also a fixed jackpot of 500x stake for completing the jigsaw in 28 calls. The RTP is guaranteed always to be more than 80%.
Just like every other new game that’s ever come out at Tombola, Winter Spotlight has attracted HUGE numbers of players – more than a thousand in every game. This has resulted in the jackpot dropping frequently – 42 times on launch day alone.
The downside of there being so many players is that your chances of winning either of the prizes are very small. The interactive nature of the game makes it fun to play regardless of this and it’s arguably the best entertainment value for 10p that you’ll find at UK bingo sites or slot sites.
Winter Spotlight is seasonal and will finish with the season, but if it continues to be as popular as it is now we fully expect to see other versions of Spotlight in the future. Halloween Spotlight, just imagine how much fun that would be to play!
