What is National Bingo Week?

National Bingo Week 2024 is an expansion of National Bingo Day and runs from 24th – 30th June.

National Bingo Day itself is a fairly recent addition to the UK calendar; the British bingo industry imported the idea from the USA (where there’s a national day for pretty well everything) in 2021, as an excuse for a big celebration in bingo clubs as they reopened after more than a year of enforced closures.  Now, it’s an awareness raising exercise.

27th June is the actual day and this year it falls on a Thursday.  Historically the biggest bingo promotions, on and offline, have been run at the weekend when players have more time so it makes a great deal of sense to extend National Bingo Day into National Bingo Week.

National Bingo Week in clubs

The National Bingo Day website has a list of participating clubs, and the National Bingo Game website has a banner advertising National Bingo Day, but this year they largely seem to be leaving it to the individual clubs to decide how to celebrate.  A couple of National Bingo Game promotions is running – half price tickets on National Bingo Day and a community share of £50,000 for the winning club on Saturday 29th – but apart from that it’s a case of checking with your local club to see what special events they have during the week.

For example, many Buzz Bingo clubs have a National Bingo Week promotion of half price bingo in the Evening Main Event on Friday 28th June, and most Mecca Bingo clubs are giving players one set of tickets free in the Main Game on National Bingo Day.

National Bingo Week online

In the world of online bingo, there’s several promotions designed to make the game even more entertaining than usual.
