If You Have A Bonus At Dragonfish, Use It Now!

Last week, many Dragonfish bingo sites and Dragonfish casinos sent an email out to players giving advance warning of a change to their general terms and conditions, to take effect from November 7th 2023.

You’ve probably never read the terms and conditions in full, especially now that the significant terms and conditions of any promotion or offer have to be shown next to the offer, and indeed much of what is in the terms and conditions has little effect on day to day play.  This particular change is a doozey, however, and if you have any outstanding bonuses or player rewards at a Dragonfish site it’s something you really need to be aware of.

Here’s how the email was worded:

“We would like to inform you of coming changes to our General Terms and Conditions.

The sections listed below have been recently updated and will come into force as of the 7th November 2023:

Section 28 Bonus Policy:
28.1.10 If you do not log in to your account for a period of 5 days, any bonuses (including all vouchers, free spins, bingo bonus funds, games bonus funds, chat points, loyalty points, shop coins) and any related winnings where the wagering requirements have not been fulfilled, shall be forfeited by you without further notice and are not refundable.”

Section 28.1.10 itself is not new, and you may not even have been aware of it before because until a few days ago it said 90 days not 5 days, and when it was 90 days hardly anyone was ever affected by it.  Essentially, what it meant that Dragonfish bonuses and other rewards would be valid indefinitely, and never expire unless you totally neglected your account for three months. And this was one of the big advantages of playing at a Dragonfish site as there was never any time pressure to finish using your bonuses and rewards.

Now, though, the position is quite different and although most Dragonfish bonuses are still technically valid indefinitely, as soon as it’s been 5 days since the last time you logged into your account your bonus goes poof! And it’s not just bonuses either – it’s every type of player reward you might collect at a Dragonfish site – spins vouchers, free bingo tickets, wheel spins, loyalty points, shop coins, whatever.  Essentially, this is the same regime that’s been in place at Jumpman sites for ages – but even worse, because at Jumpman it’s a slightly less unforgiving 7 days.

The change affects every Dragonfish site apart from No Wagering sites (where the possible rewards of free bingo tickets and free spins have always had an expiry date).

Here’s just some of the scenarios where that 5 days could be a issue (I’m sure you can imagine many others):

• You had a really busy week at work.
• You had family visitors for Christmas or Easter and were busy preparing for and entertaining them.
• You were ill and didn’t feel like playing.
• You had a family emergency.
• You went on holiday and found you couldn’t log in from outside the UK.

In all of these scenarios, you’d be in for a nasty surprise when you logged in again – all of your goodies would be gone with no redress. The situation is made even worse by the fact that it’s actually quite hard to play through a Dragonfish bingo bonus quickly due to the lack of pre-buy.

How can you avoid inadvertently falling foul of this tough new rule?  Here’s what to consider:

• If you have any outstanding bonuses and/or player rewards at any Dragonfish sites you may want to redeem and use them before the new clause takes effect on 7th November.
• In future, before claiming a new bonus at a Dragonfish site you may want to have a think about when you are going to use it, especially if you aren’t going to be using all of it right away.
• In future, you may want to redeem any player rewards such as shop coins or wheel spins as soon as you get them rather than saving for later, just in case something crops up that prevents you from loggin in often enough

It all goes to show just how important it is to read the terms and conditions!
