Karamba first launched back in the noughties – or pretty much the dawn of time as far as online gambling goes. The first Aspire casino, it originally it offered slots, scratchcards and instant win games from NeoGames but now it includes slot games from lots of different providers – and there’s also a sportsbook.

Karamba has been on the scene for getting on for 20 years now; it first appeared in 2005 but as you can imagine, it looks very different today to the way it did then. The excellent sportsbook is a relatively recent addition (2018) but even that has been around for long enough now not to be a novelty any more. As if branching out into sports wasn’t enough, they also planned a foray into bingo and even went so far as to publicise “Karamba Bingo” at an iGaming industry conference in 2019. This didn’t come to fruition because the plan was to use the Microgaming bingo software but shortly afterwards, Microgaming announced that their bingo product was to be retired. Aspire responded to this by not only going out and finding another bingo supplier (End2End), but acquiring a 25% stake in the company. Although this acquisition happened in 2021 at around the same time as End2End secured a UK bingo supplier licence, we’ve yet to see any indication of when the product might appear at Aspire casinos including Karamba. Don’t hold your breath!

For the time being, then, Karamba remains a casino/sportsbook combo. And it’s certainly more colourful and memorable than most due to its rather unique mascot, a mauve and turquoise parrot depicted playing football and roulette and fishing for Big Bass complete with snorkel and fishing tackle.

The casino part of the site is divided into Casino and Live Casino, and the live casino provision is mostly by Evolution with a few extras such as the Joker’s Wheel game show by Skywind. It would be fair to say they concentrate more on roulette, blackjack and baccarat than on game shows, with just a few of those to choose from.

As for the slots, you can’t fault them on the sheer number of games but it would be nice to have a bit more lobby categorisation – apart from the popular titles in Featured Games and the area for new additions, the only other tabs are for the games currently included in Pragmatic Play’s Drops & Wins promotion (which is useful) and for jackpots. Aspire haven’t been great for jackpots but this has now changed due to the addition of Mega Moolah and WowPot games plus some more Jackpot King titles to add to the handful they already had. If you’re a fan of Red Tiger daily jackpots, however, you’ll be disappointed – they do have those games but they are in non jackpot versions.

If you want to dig a bit deeper, it’s a case of browsing through all the games in either order of popularity or alphabetical order, or of using the search box which will find games by name or provider (but it helps to know exactly what you are looking for). There’s also a handy extra feature, GameFrame, which lets you search for other games without having to close the game you’re currently playing and go back to the lobby.

It’s also possible to make a deposit without closing the game you’re currently playing, and to add to the convenience there’s an impressive range of payment methods you can use including modern options like Trustly and Muchbetter.

Promotions at Karamba include the aforementioned Drops & Wins as well as seasonal specials, network prize draw promotions and sports promotions. The emphasis is very much on fun and with the current great selection of slots this venerable online casino is well worth a visit.
