Highbet is new in the UK for Autumn 2021. It’s a casino and sportsbook, powered by Aspire Global.
New sites with both a casino and a sportsbook have been quite the thing in 2021 but most of them have been on the Progress Play platform so Highbet makes a nice change.
The casino is laid out a bit differently to other Aspire sites but the games are as you’d expect. The Casino area is split into Slots (more than 650 titles), Classic Slots (more than 550 titles) and Table Games (a few), with no area for jackpot slots and no sign of there being any progressive jackpot slots. Within each section, there’s a choice of viewing the games alphabetically or by the provider, except it doesn’t actually work in some browsers (Chrome for example), and just shows you all the games in an apparently random order. Luckily, there’s a search facility which works just fine so it’s easy to find the game you want that way.
Over in the Live Casino, the split is Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and All and again, the A-Z listing and filtering by provider is not working properly in some browsers; the search facility does work which is a good thing as it’s the only way to find gameshow titles such as Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt.
Indeed, the search facility lets you find any game you know the name of, anywhere on site – you don’t have to be in the right section first.
On mobile, the filtering and alphabetical sorting works as it should, producing a generally much better player experience than on a computer. However, it can take a while to work out how to switch between the casino, the live casino, the sportsbook and the promotions page – all are accessible from a hamburger menu at the bottom of the page but the bar it is on disappears as soon as you start to scroll down.
The sportsbook displays odds using the decimal system by default but it’s easy to switch to the fractional system which is more commonly used in the UK. As well as a very extensive range of football bets there’s several less mainstream sports to bet on including chess, table tennis and water polo, plus e-sports, politics, entertainment and so on.
The inclusion of the sportsbook is such a big plus point (if you like that kind of thing) that despite the minor usability issues Highbet is a better proposition than most other Aspire casinos.
Aspire’s Responsible Gambling page includes a policy statement with useful external links plus a description of the safer gambling tools and how to use them, with direct links for deposit limits, time out and self exclusion. Reality check has to be set from “My Account” and session limits can be set via customer services.
