The Sun Play, which is associated with the Sun newspaper, was new on the Jumpman Gaming platform for November 2023.
You may be thinking that you’ve heard of The Sun Play before and you’d be right; the site had a previous incarnation on the Nektan platform from 2018 to 2021. The player base hasn’t carried over so for all practical purposes the Jumpman Gaming version is a new site. And it looks great! The red and white branding of the Sun newspaper permeates the site and most players will really appreciate the reassurance that comes with playing somewhere that’s backed by a household name.
Unlike almost all other Jumpman Gaming sites, The Sun Play doesn’t have any bingo rooms. As the Sun already has a bingo site (Sun Bingo) with a bingo product that is vastly superior to what’s available at Jumpman, that’s the place they would like you to go if you want to play bingo. On the other hand, if what you want isn’t bingo, but to play lots of different slot games on a range of devices, the Jumpman Gaming platform may suit you very well.
The Sun Play uses the newest version of the Jumpman Gaming lobby which was introduced at the beginning of 2025 and is almost stark in its simplicity; there’s very few lobby areas and no information about any of the games apart from the game tiles themselves, not even the name or jackpot size. Although this keeps the lobby free of any clutter which is important for usability on mobile phones, it’s not great if you aren’t already familiar with the games.
First port of call if you’re looking for something exciting to play is the Popular area in the lobby. Here you’ll find a selection of perennially popular games including Rainbow Riches, Fishin’ Frenzy, 9 Pots of Gold and Big Bass Bonanza. Immediately below that are some themed game carousels such as Cult Classics and Megaways, plus one for new releases which is kept bang up to date. Once you’ve opened an account and logged in, you’ll also find that your recently played games appear here so although there’s no way to save your favourite games, you can still easily come back to games you enjoyed.
The Slots area of the lobby has more of the themed slot game carousels – Gone Fishing, Cosmic Adventure, Fluffy & Friends, Megaways – and there’s also one for the more than 60 Slingo games.
The Casino area has a dozen or so non live dealer table games.
The Live area has live roulette, blackjack and baccarat by Playtech, On Air Entertainment, Pragmatic Play and others. Inexplicably, there’s no game shows in this part of the lobby, but you can find a few including Vegas Ball Bonanza and Adventures Beyond Wonderland via the search bar.
The final lobby area is for Jackpots. The Sun Play has more than 60 of these but they are mostly by just one games provider – Eyecon – and there aren’t any really big ones. It should also be noted that they can’t be played with bonus, but with so many other games to choose from this is unlikely to be an issue for players.
Whichever lobby area you find yourself in, you can scroll to the bottom to find the View All Games button and bring up the alphabetical list of all the games (slots and otherwise). There are more than 3800 of them so if you try to scroll through them all you might very well run out of patience before reaching the later parts of the alphabet!
Unless you want to do that, the only way to locate games that are not prominent in the lobby – and that’s a LOT of games including all crash games, scratchcards and other instant win games as well as all live casino game shows and hundreds of back catalogue slot games – is to use the search bar. If you don’t know exactly what you are looking for, this could be a deal breaker.
The player support at The Sun Play isn’t great. Although it says you can email them, it doesn’t give you the email address and your only option is to fill in the form that pops up from the “Support” icon, which is only visible if you are already on the (rather sparsely populated) FAQ pages. If you do this during office hours (9am – 4pm Monday to Friday) you may get a response right away from “live chat”, but otherwise it could take up to two business days.
Promotions at The Sun Play are run by the Jumpman network and delivered in two ways.
Do make sure you are aware of the terms and conditions of all these offers and if you have bonuses or player rewards which you don’t use on the spot, be sure to log in at least once every seven days as otherwise they disappear.
If you want a fuss free way to play slot games on your mobile phone and enjoy the spin the wheel style of offer, where you never know just what you’re going to get when you make a deposit until but have to wait till afterwards to find out, The Sun Play could be right up your street, especially as it’s associated with such a big household name.
65 x bonus on slots (excluding progressive jackpots). Cash play does not contribute.
The Sun Play has Jumpman’s standard Responsible Gaming policy, a brief document which explains what the standard safer gambling tools are (deposit limits, reality check, take a break and self exclusion) and how to use them, together with a self assessment questionnaire and links to sources of further help.
